This doesn't seem right... [completed]
Character(s): Kuzco, anybody else that might want to join
Content: Kuzco's arrival in Paixao
Setting: Muspelheim gate
Time: Week 2, afternoon
Warnings: None
"Ooh...where-- what happened?" And why did he have such a killer headache? The last thing he remembered was eating dinner...and then...well, he couldn't remember anything after that, which made him even more confused as to why he was out here in some place he didn't recognize. He thought he knew his empire well enough...
Kuzco slowly got to his feet, wobbling as he did so. So intent was he on both his surroundings and his aching head that he didn't realize he was walking on four legs instead of two. He thought he felt a little funny...but then again, that could've just been a side effect of whatever had hit him earlier.
He whistled as he caught sight of the nearby gate. "Snazzy architecture," he said to himself, admiring the gold flames on the gate. "Wherever this place is, at least the people here have good taste!"
There were several other people headed towards the gate, which made Kuzco wonder what exactly was behind them. He sauntered slowly towards the gate as well, and finally caught sight of the booth in which the gatekeeper sat. "Excuse me, my good servant," said Kuzco to the man there. "Could you happen to tell me where the palace is?"
The man's eyebrow quirked up slightly. "Palace?"
"Yes, you know. The palace. Big shiny building, you know, the place where I live." Kuzco waved a hoof in the air, suddenly exasperated. "And I'd appreciate it if you told me where it is, 'cause I'm kinda wanting to get home right now."
The man looked as if he were stifling a laugh. "No such place around here, unless you're somehow referring to the manor that's some ways away from here. Anyways, your name please?"
"No, I do mean palace, and I would happen to be the one and only Kuzco, ruler of the empire." Strange that the man had no idea who he was. "And what the heck is that thing?" For after he had said his name, the man had pulled out something that Kuzco recognized only as a silver rectangle of sorts. "What, are you giving me some sort of treasure? 'Cause that's what it kinda looks like. Really, it's a nice offer, but--"
"Journal. You'll be wanting one of these if you're going to stay around here." He took another look at Kuzco, who was making a face at being interrupted. "Though you'll be needing something to help you carry it..."
"Why not? Whatever it is, I can carry it just fi--" Kuzco's face went as white as a llama's face could go, for as he stretched out his hand he finally realized that something was rather amiss. Last time he had checked, he was supposed to have hands, not hooves like that...
"Sure, whatever." Kuzco didn't move as the man put the journal around his neck. "You're set now, so go and have fun in Paixao."
"Ah buh..." Kuzco didn't protest as someone else bumped into him, causing him to move forward through the gate. A moment later, he finally came back to his senses and let out a yell of surprise.
"AHHH WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED??"
Something was up, and he didn't like it!

He made an odd face at the girl as she spoke. "Soft thing? I haven't. Is this-" He pointed toward the animal, eyebrows raised, and cocked his head to the side, "Yours?" Either way, it wouldn't matter. He was planning on taking it, regardless of who it belonged to, and if he had to find some way to secure its mouth shut, he'd do so.
"I'll be taking it."
