A smug Ford Prefect smugly sipped a gin and tonic (that was probably smug) at the swanky (and smug) bar of Morem o Lisboa feeling, indeed, rather smug. He had swung himself a free suite and drink tab with the help of his ploy to start up a Guide for Paixao. Granted, the guide didn't exist yet, but he convinced the manager that it was very important that Ford be impressed by flashing a bit of badge-sized psychic paper which showed the manager this:

This was quite possible the best place he'd been in years. The only thing missing was somebody to show off for. Or at least drink with. One or two people had tried to sit next to him but he had driven them away in one way or another ("It sure is nice to have someone to talk to, my wife just died and my son leapt into a lake and the dog followed him and the cat followed the dog after eating the goldfish first and I'm just so glad you came along I think I might be developing syphillis are you a doctor? I don't even know what syphillis is but I think I might have it. Hey, where are you going?") Really he had been holding out for a woman who was made out of breasts, but had seen none since he arrived. At this point, he decided, anyone would do.
OOC: If anybody here watches Doctor Who and caught my little reference, I just decided it counted since Douglas Adams wrote for the series back in the 70's ;D
