見つけた! [ complete. ]
Character(s): Cho Hakkai, Sha Gojyo. Possibly Sanzo? Stop being a sourpuss and get over here.
Content: Hakkai manages to find Gojyo over the journals. After discovering that they were both in the Muspelheim area, he goes off in search of his old roommate.
Setting: Muspelheim gate.
Time: Monday afternoon.
Warnings: None, unless Gojyo's already done enough to warrant his very own specialshiny warning...
Hakkai knew he had done wrong by just leaving Xianghua behind, but he had no choice. They both had their own set agendas in mind, and the young woman didn't seem the type to willingly tag along as he went on a wild goose chase to find his companions. Perhaps he felt worse about leaving her than he would have about leaving anyone else because they were both from China and they were both alone in this world. She didn't even have a journal with which she could locate her friend Kilik, the poor girl.
But anyone who knew Hakkai knew that he wouldn't just leave without saying anything. He had set out in the morning, and she wasn't around for him to properly say his goodbyes, but he did write her out a nice long note, apologizing for his sudden departure and wishing her good luck on her search for Kilik... and, along with the note, a tiny pink metallic journal for her to use. (Hakkai was lucky enough to have received this for free; he planned on buying it with what little money he had on him, but when a few passers by heard that his friend was journal-less, they were so shocked that they just gave him one right then and there.)
Also in the note were details on how to use the journal. That morning, a rather peculiar man with an equally unique name - Daath - messaged him out of the blue, and had been kind enough to help him use his own journal. Unfortunately, he couldn't answer all of his questions for him; whenever he asked him something that had to deal with how he got there, or how to get back, he would simply say that he wasn't allowed to disclose such information. It gave Hakkai the impression that there was something more to this world, but he pushed these feelings aside for the time being. He would worry about them later, after he found Gojyo and Sanzo.
What he could not push aside, however, was the last bit of information Daath had given him, on the sorts of people that entered this world. It was impossible to bring someone back from the dead, but someone who had died could pass through Paixao on their way to the afterlife. Maybe... no, impossible. Kanan was gone, and Hakkai had to stop denying the fact. He only had himself to blame for asking such a foolish question.
Needless to say, this contributed to that worried look he had on his face as he sat by the gates to Muspelheim, hoping to catch a glimpse of that familiar red hair or trademark antennae. Mostly, he was just anxious to see Gojyo; he had been worried about his three friends once he disappeared, but after having lived with the halfbreed long enough he was naturally more concerned about him than he was about the others. Not that he prided himself on acting like the doting mother of the group, but he knew Gojyo would simply slip back into his old habits without him around to poke and prod and nag. If he was annoying, well... at least he was annoyingly helpful.
And what if it wasn't even Gojyo? Whoever he had conversed with on the journals knew who he was, and he sure acted like his friend, but Hakkai was a little reluctant to trust people here. What if it was a trick?
He would just have to wait and see, wouldn't he?
Hakkai forced a smile and looked up at the fake sky.
"Let us hope," he said to his worries. "That you are wrong."

Although he hadn't had any money on him to begin with, after a few card games, he had made enough to score a few drinks, and a small room for the night. He would have to return to that place again sometime, it may of been a hole in the wall sort of place, but he felt at home. Besides, there were some pretty women there, and although he hadn't picked up on them the night before (why yes, even Sha Gojyo wasn't in the mood sometimes, espically when suddenly in someplace new) he would definetly have to go back sometime and do so.
He yawned as he woke up, stretching his arms out behind him as he did so. Of course, it was hardly morning, in fact, it was somewhere in the afternoon, but it wasn't unusual for the kappa to sleep in like that, when left to his own devices like that. Usually, the only thing that got him up in the morning was Hakkai's nagging. And breakfast.
He made his way out of the bar, and soon as he was outside, he dug into his pocket, and pulled out his last ciggarette. He had smoked the rest of them the night before out of nerves. He lit it with his lighter, inhaling deeply. Mmm. Nicotine made everything better.
He was glad to of located Hakkai, though he wouldn't be quick to admit it. The man was the only real friend he had, and almost like a security blanket of sorts, if that made any sense. He could probably survive without the monk or monkey. But without Hakkai? That was doubtful. He didn't want to go back to how things had been before Hakkai entered his life.
Luckily, thanks to those journal things, he had found him, along with the monk. He had also talked shortly to some girl named Asuka. She seemed nice enough, but he had gotten a little wary when she started going about how they were both lucky to be redheads. Since when was red hair anything but a curse?
He made his way down the street, going back towards the gate, which wasn't too far at all from where he had stayed. That's where he had agreed to meet Hakkai, right?
And sure enough, as he approached the gates he spotted a very familar brunette. It had to be Hakkai, how many men wore monocles? He picked up his pace, grinning over to the other man, waving, with his ciggarette in hand.
"So it is you. Good to see you"

He chuckled softly as he made his way towards the other man, leaning against the gate as well, bringing the ciggarette to his lips and inhaling, crimson eyes closing for a moment. Not that he could blame Hakkai, he had been worried himself, he just wasn't as quick to show it.
He chuckled softly, opening his eyes once more at the other man's question, removing the ciggarette from his lips in order to reply. "Of course I have, though I have to say, I'm not nearly as good of a cook as you are."
It was a bit of a lie, but he figured it wouldn't harm anyone. And the thing about his cooking was true, just not the rest. Without Hakkai around he had been drinking and everything else alot more...but who would be suprised by that? If there was anything that really had a hold on the kappa, it was his vices.
Goku was the kid of the group, Sanzo was the asshole, and Hakkai was the mother. Which left him as...Gojyo. He never could find a better way to explain how he fit into things.

He took a last inhale before tossing the stub on the ground, smashing it out, with an almost mournful look on his face. He definetly needed to go out and buy another pack soon. And what if this place didn't sell Hi-Lites? That really would be a tragedy.
Although he seemed calmed, Gojyo was still a bit wary of this place, which may of been why he had gotten through his ciggarettes so quickly. Whenever he found something uneasy, he smoked more. It was just his way of doing things.
He let out a low whistle, running his fingers through his long crimson hair, trying to get it more in place. "There were some nice looking babes there too, so I suppose this place can't be all bad"

"Is the monkey even here?" he asked, yawning lazily as he placed his hands behind his head. "I mean, no one's heard anything from him, so I kinda think maybe he's not. I mean, if he was, wouldn't someone of complained about a kid whining for food by now?"
In all actuality, he was almost worried about Goku, well, he was certainly more worried about him and Sanzo anyways. Sure, he and the monkey argued alot..but he wasn't all bad.
Of course, there was someone else Gojyo was wondering about too, but kept to himself. If they were all here...what about the others? Would his brother show up here as well?
He shook his head, trying to dismiss the thoughts as he looked back towards Hakkai. "You're going to make me go with you to meet up with the monk, aren't you," he asked whining slightly even though he knew that if the brunette wanted him to come, he would find a way to make sure he did.

He chuckled softly, shifting his head so that his crimson eyes looked over to the other man. "Cause it's you. You have a funny way of being able to make me do what you want"

"Oh?" The kappa raised his brow slightly at this, a smirk spreading across his lips. Fantastic. The less time spent with the stupid monk, the better. Things were much better when he was around Sanzo as little as possible. "And what do you suggest we do until then?"
And Gojyo was not suprised at all, he knew just how sarcastic the other man could be, while still smiling that damn smile of his that he always had plastered on his face. It was almost maddening sometimes, but what can you do?

Crimson eyes followed emerlad one's to the crushed ciggarette, and he nodded his head slightly in agreement with his friend. "I hope they carry Hi-Lites in this place"

Alcohol he didn't always have access to, and therefore, Gojyo could go a while without, but ciggarettes? If he didn't get some soon he'd probably go into nicotine withdrawl, which was never fun for him or anyone around him to witness him. Hell, this is the man who smoked with a dying man in his bedroom. Of course, at least he had waited for him to wake up from the coma first.

Although he was trying to sound joking about it, there was still a slight nervous tone to his voice, as if he was really that desprete to get himself more ciggarettes.

Gojyo raised a brow before shrugging his shoulders slightly. "I have no idea where he could be. I thought he would be with you. He's your pet, not mine, after all"
Knowing their luck, the little dragon had probably ended up with Sanzo, or maybe it was with Goku, wherever the hell he was. Either way, it wasn't with them.

"Hey, if the stupid dragon is around here anywhere, I'm sure we'll find him pretty soon, okay?" Gojyo said, digging into his pocket only to remember he was out of ciggarettes already. Damn. He was never very good at this whole comforting thing. Not his style.

He fell silent for a moment, kicking at the dirt idly. "I wonder how they decide who comes here and who doesn't..and if anyone else we know is here.." Gojyo couldn't help but think of his brother. What if Jien was here too?

This girl he had been talking to on the network had mentioned something about the dead coming back here...but the kappa was trying to keep that as far from his mind as he could. Last thing he needed to do was to think about his mother.
He frowned slightly, taking a closer look at Hakkai. Something was definetly wrong with him. "Something bothering you?"
