Are You My Mother? [Active]
Character(s): Kadaj/Daath & Jenova
Content: Kadaj searches for his mother...
Setting: Paixao Central Station.
Time: Monday2 evening, after the interaction in the message boards here.
Warnings: I apologize for the title. Really. >>
Kadaj kept his hood up as he made his way towards the center of Paixao, eyes searching among the blonde-haired, blue-eyed citizens for one person in particular—Jenova. She would be here, somewhere, he just had to find her. He felt a little foolish suddenly—how was he supposed to know it was her, anyway, if he had no recollection of what she looked like?
He paused for a moment and let his gaze sweep the area, uncertain now. She would probably look like him… silver hair and green eyes, something like that. Right? Or possibly there would be other identifying marks…. He growled softly under his breath and started moving again, stalking through the crowds and growing more and more frustrated at the amount of people who didn’t match what he thought his mother would be. There had to be something about her… something that would grab his attention, like the things that the President had said made him do a double-take. Something…
He moved quickly, covering as much ground as possible. It didn’t seem likely that he would be spotted; it was dark now, and a lot of people were in a hurry to board the train or go to their homes, so he should be all right… still, it was best to be wary.
He just hoped he would find her soon.

But at this proxmity his mind's resemblance to her youngest's was all to clear, which baffled her. She had sensed Kadaj's death days ago. Not that death as mortals knew it was by necessity a permanent fate, but this world had no Lifestream for him to be pulled back out of. This could only be some pale facsimile, not Kadaj himself.
More to the point, there was nothing of her in him anymore. Without her cells, he was of no more use to her than any ordinary human.
Jenova reached down to push back the hood that hid his face, and her eyes narrowed at the changed but still familiar face. Kadaj, but transformed into something entirely outside her experience. "You said that you knew of Kadaj, not that you had once been him. You will explain yourself at once."

He turned back to her and continued speaking in a low voice. "I couldn't tell you everything then, and I can't tell you it all now. I apologize, Mother, but-- can we move this somewhere else? Then I'll be able to, but as things are..."
He just hoped she would understand. The Organization was still out there, and he wasn't quite confident enough to divulge their secrets after telling his location in that message board post. He especially wasn't ready to reveal his nature where anyone could hear. That would just lead to trouble. No, this was not the place to do so, but maybe somewhere else...
