Devices and departing. [Completed]
Character(s): Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV, Ford Prefect, Hayner
Content: Ed arrives in Paixao..
Setting: Muspelheim
Time: Monday morning, week duos
Warnings: None
Ed hadn't lost a game of hide-and-seek, thus far. Though Ein was an exceptionally bright pooch, Ed had learned to run. Sometimes their games scretched over miles and miles of distance. Ed might've kept a tracker on Ein....but that had nothing to do with it. Really.
Ed had been wandering for awhile, not really paying attention to her surroundings, but just walking. It was morning, and the weather was fair. It was starting to get warm. Occasionally, Ed would check Ein's location, just to be sure. But Ein had been out of range for awhile now, so Ed wasn't worried. She hadn't noticed her surroundings until she bumped into someone. She looked up at a tall man in a yellow, pinstriped suit with a grey beard. He peered down at her for a moment, and then went back to his buisness. Buisness of standing. In fact, he was standing in a rather large line. And there was a large...thing. It looked like one of the cheap gold Buddha necklaces Ed remembered looking at once. Well, not so much looking at. But it had been on the internet somewhere. It was large. A gate, actually. And there was a booth at the entrance, which is why everyone was standing in line.
Ed walked to the very front of the line, rudely stepping in front of an old man in a wheelchair. "What's this?" Ed inquired. "Paixao," a voice answered. "Name?" the voice from behind the booth asked. Ed paused. "Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV." ".....can you spell that for me?" "No," Ed giggled. What appeared to be a small handheld computer deviced appeared in a box on the counter of the booth. "That's a journal--free. But can you spell your name for me young...sir...?" "FREEEEEEEEE," Ed squealed. She ran off, grasping her new-found devices and pulling various tools out of her belongings. She ran into a nearby building and proceded to take the device apart.
Only a short while later it wasn't a journal...exactly. Needless to say, it was improved. Quite significantly.
She had access to nearly any machine in Paixao that was hooked up with the Paixao network. Ed continued to sit, exploring the capacity of this device, eyes ablaze and machines buzzing.
