We Got Nothing Figured Out [Active/Closed]

Character(s): Dagger and Zidane
Content: After this post, Dagger goes to find Zidane. Both could use a little comfort at the moment.
Setting: The park
Time: Week 37
Warnings: Fluff?

Shortly after clicking her journal shut, Dagger put the device away and was out of her bedroom within seconds. Her long, dark hair streamed behind her as she rushed down the stairs and out to the park. She knew there was really no reason to rush, but she couldn't help feeling like both her and Zidane needed each other right now. And she did not want to keep him waiting.

She accidentally bumped into a few people along the way, calling back her apologies as she scuttled past them. The heels of her boots clicked rhythmically on the ground until she finally found herself at the park, chest rising and falling rapidly as she tried to catch her breath.

Finally composing herself, Dagger tucked stray strands of hair back behind her ears and began to look around. It was only a matter of time before she found him, so she approached quietly until she was standing beside him. Instead of saying anything, she just tilted her head so she could look at his face and see if he was all right.

Zidane had been in the park long enough that he had dug a tree out of the snow and was sitting against it, knees drawn up to his chest, arms folded over, chin rested against them. After talking to Dagger, his journal had ended up pushed away from him, half buried in the snow. Damn indestructible thing.

Come on. He really thought he'd finally been cut a bit of a break, only to have that come back. As if he needed a reminder. The nightmares had been enough. And to have Dagger see it... Hell, to have Kuja see it (and Zidane still wasn't sure what the other genome thought of it, but he wasn't sure he wanted to know, and it wasn't like he was going to get a straight answer anyway).

His attention snapped up at Daggers arrival, surprised, even though he knew she was on her way. She really didn't keep him waiting, huh?

He unfolded from his position, standing up and giving her a small twitch of a smile. "Hey," he offered in greeting. He hadn't really thought about what to say. 'Hey, yeah, I got experimented on. It kind of sucked, but don't worry about it.'

Sure. That'd go over well. He held back a sigh.
