The sudden shifting of the unconscious scientist startled Miles; he gasped and drew back his hand, holding it as though it had been burned. Edgeworth glanced down at the ground and saw the small pool of blood that had been forming from the wound in Hojo's shoulder. Blood looked different when it was wet.

He brought his eyes up to meet Hojo's--the poor man was so disoriented... did he really know what had happened? Was he able to control his transformation at all? Did he know why it happened?

A sudden explosion caught Miles off-guard and he whipped his head around in the direction of the sound, squinting his eyes at the burst of light at the end of the hall.

Was that... the lab?
