He really had figured that once they reached the top, which it sounded like maybe they had, there'd be something up there waiting for them. To Laharl it was just common sense. There was no way getting to the top was going to equal instant freedom. He'd pretty well been counting on a fight. And, of course, for Laharl this was fine. More than fine even.
