Calm in the "at least you aren't trying to escape to blow something up" way at least. She wasn't dumb enough to think everything was alright with the kid after all of this; his words only confirmed it.

"Look, getting all worked up over this isn't going to solve anything," she tried to explain. This really wasn't her usual style, especially not to kids she knew were stronger than her. She'd usually be the first one to tell him to go for it or else he'd be a wimp. Telling someone to show restraint was... okay, she had no idea how to really pull it off. "You're just grounded for a little bit... they'll let you out as soon as they know you won't blow up anything! Then you can do whatever you want!"

Well, she was pretty sure that wasn't quite what was going to happen, but close enough for the moment.
