To be perfectly honest, Squall hadn't exactly been on the same floor as the ruined city. After Seifer's disappearance, he'd wanted to spend some time with his thoughts, and so he'd headed off into the castle's many floors. Rinoa turning up again, on the other hand, was something that he wasn't about to miss, and it didn't take him him too long to get back to the general vicinity of the gates.

From there, it was only really a matter of finding Rinoa, but that had never really much of a problem.
