Unlike most people, Saïx had the advantage of dark portals to keep him out of the way of the falling debris and rubble. Of course, he wouldn't be admitting to that fact, given that there wasn't any good reason for it when he was supposed to be keeping his allegiances somewhat hidden. He didn't like having to do so, but neither could he truly argue with the reasoning behind it.

He did make to approach Emizel. Not directly, at least. While he was perfectly willing to speak, he wasn't going to be the first to start a conversation. Not when the other was still a good distance away, although he did turn to look at Emizel. The rest would be up to him.
