Yorda, much to her own surprise, remained standing where she was. If she had been on her island again, the girl certainly would have obeyed - but the island no longer existed. Yorda was different now, stronger after a quiet fashion, and she would not willingly aid this man in doing whatever he intended to do. So she stood, in silence, her eyes lowered but her shoulders defiantly squared. The princess knew she could not hope to fight Ansem, but if refusing to obey her captor could put him off for even a moment longer, she would do it.
