Her tactics weren't working as well as she had hoped. Without someone to cover her, Dagger had no time to cast any more spells, let alone call Shiva, Odin, or any of her other Eidolons. But she wasn't going to back down just yet, even as the Soldiers swarmed closer.

Another swing of her rod sent a few of them tumbling away. Every swipe of the little monsters' claws caused her to step back, inching by inch until she was backed against a wall.

Not good. She looked left, and then right, but Dagger couldn't find any openings. Grimacing, she realized she had nowhere to run.
