Well at least he managed to annoy Kuja, not that that would probably benefit Zidane in the end, but he couldn't help but be a little cocky, even if his attack didn't hit. He draws up his remaining dagger in an attempt to block the rings, but some of the magic breaks through and burns at his skin. He recovers his second dagger and knocks away the rest of the rings with ease, but... he's now rather grounded for Kuja's next spell.
