Laharl really hadn't ever really thought about just why there was this abandoned church out here. He didn't really care, after all, but now that his mother brought it up... Just why was this place all the way out here, anyways? The people of the city never left, after all.

"Huh... Maybe?" he finally replied, after pausing his steps for a moment at the base of the stairs. "It is kind of weird it's way out here..."

Up the stairs he then led, up to the impossible to be there room and through the door to the hallway. There were stairs at the far end, but Laharl stopped at the darkened orb on a pedestal. There was no reason to go the long way now. "This thing'll take us up the floors, though I guess maybe we should go to the top one, and go backwards. I don't remember seeing any mountains on the other side."
