Mao turned his head as Riku spoke up and followed behind, wondering just where they were going at first. But then he noticed a small, somewhat familiar glimpse of light. Mao adjusted his glasses, shoving them further up his nose to make sure he got a good look at it as they got closer. Despite his best efforts, Mao had missed his chance when he had been sucked through the first couple of times. This was the first time he could actually examine it.
"I didn't see it at first," Mao replied simply, a little distracted as he began to wonder why darkness was in the wormhole in the first place. Had something messed with whatever caused it?
Mao took out his journal, looking briefly at the map before putting it away and pulling out a small notepad and pencil. He made a note of their position before putting that back away as well. It was probably a good idea to make notes of the different places the wormholes were appearing. While Mao thought it was random, there might just be a pattern he was missing. "If only I had something to scan it with...!"
