Of course, Meg could've done without the whole god bit for the rest of her life, but no sense telling a stranger that.

"What's your name, kid?" Truthfully, he probably wasn't much younger than her. And he was already her height, maybe even taller. But he had that wide-eyed, just fell off the cabbage truck sort of look to him. Innocence she couldn't remember having for a long time.
