Lost Pup [Active/Open]

Character(s): Toboe, and anyone who wants a cute puppy to run into. [Is punted by muse.]
Content: Toboe arrives at Paixao, and he;s very confused and scared.
Setting: Vanaheim Gate and the surrounding area.
Time: Late Morning (Week...26 I think?)
Warnings: Just a scared runt pup. He won't bite.

Toboe had followed Kiba out of the city with Tsume and Hige. They had run very far that night, trying to get as far away from the city and the humans as they could. When they finally stopped to rest, Toboe fell right asleep…

The problem came when he woke up. When he had fallen asleep, it had been snowing, and he had been pretty cold. Now, he felt the warmth of the sun and soft grass underneath him. Toboe got up with a start, looking around and trying to find his companions. No matter which direction he looked, he couldn’t see them. Their scents weren’t even around, except maybe...Tsume's? Instead, there was a large done close by, similar to the domed city he had just escaped from, but also very different. Toboe put on his illusion and carefully approached the dome, afraid of what he might run in to.

Unfortunately, there were humans everywhere. Well, it was a city. It was humans that tended to build them. On the plus side, none of the humans seemed to pay him any attention. Instead, they were all standing in a line outside a large gate that led inside the dome. Not knowing what else to do, Toboe joined in.

Before too long, Toboe reached the end of the line. He froze in fear as the human stared at him.

“Welcome to Paixao.”

Before Toboe had time to react, a strange devise was shoved in his ‘hands’ and he was shoved out of the way to make room for the other people coming in.

“Paixao?” Toboe stared at the devise, then looked around. No. this place was nothing like the city he had just left. It was more lively, and yet, more dead at the same time, the only scents Toboe being able to pick up was that of humans and the food they ate. He could tell just from the smell of the place that the plants weren’t real, and he couldn’t hear or smell any other animals around either. Not even rats.

Toboe found a place to stay out of the way while he tried to grasp his bearings. “Kiba? Tsume? Hige?” He knew calling out for them would yield to nothing, but he couldn’t help it. Fear gripped the young wolf, and he walked over to an unoccupied corner, sitting down against the wall and trying to figure out what to do next.

because this will end beautifully

But that - it couldn't be! But then she thought she picked up Tsume's scent at one point... Was Toboe really so strange? She saw him, right in that corner, and still she couldn't quite believe it. Toboe.

And so, without the knowledge base of when Toboe showed up from, a very excited Blue in her wolf form runs towards him. "Toboe!"

[identity profile] halvedhowl.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
Blue comes to an immediate halt and pulls back with a fear of her own.

"T-Toboe, what are you talking about?"

Why was he acting like this? And how he was referring to the old man... After everything...

[identity profile] halvedhowl.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
Blue's human illusion slid over her. Part of her was happy that Toboe had yet to experience the horrors that came later to them - maybe there was a way to save their lives now...

"Toboe, things changed!" She insists. "All because of Cheza..." She glances down sadly. "I guess then... I'm from your future. Heh, this city..."

[identity profile] halvedhowl.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm sorry, Toboe... I'm sorry it's so confusing."

How could she tell him without giving away the worst of everything? No. The others succeeded. She's sure of it.

"It's this city. It can drag people from their worlds - many different worlds - and... different times. Cheza is very dear to me. Everyone is..."

[identity profile] halvedhowl.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
She smiles. "Yeah. We headed to Paradise together. I'm Blue." It was the name the old man gave her, after all. She glances away from the boy, out towards the city.

"I think Tsume is in the city, somewhere, but I haven't been able to find him. I don't think he uses the journals either." She points to his own. "Those help keep in touch with others around the city. It's safe to be a wolf here."

[identity profile] halvedhowl.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
She hangs her head. "There are other creatures here that they need to worry about. There are a lot of non-humans, too. Giant cats - lions, I think people were calling them." She sighs.

"I already tried contacted Tsume through it, but with no such luck. We'll have to track him down. But the others... No, they're not. With Tsume lurking about and now you..." Her expression changes to a mix of sadness and joy. "I never thought I'd ever see any of you here..."

[identity profile] halvedhowl.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
"I haven't met one face to face yet, so I'm not sure." She had conversed with Scar, but that hadn't gone overly well in her opinion. He didn't know she was a wolf, either. "I think they've left the human population alone."

They did need to find Tsume. She could only hope that he was from a closer time period than Toboe though not so far as the trauma Darcia had caused...

Blue wanted to hug Toboe. For everything that hasn't happened, for the connections and understanding they had once shared, and for being able to see him alive again.

But she held herself back.

"You're right. Between the two of us, we'll find him."

[identity profile] halvedhowl.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
Her face took on a brief flicker of surprise to be pulled along by the younger wolf, but it was only for a moment. She thought of what she knew of Tsume, and whether or not he knew Blue was here. But he could be like Toboe... thinking she was hunting him, and thus avoiding her at all costs...

"Well, I doubt he's in the park. He's probably taken residence in one of the buildings, but... that doesn't really narrow it down." She pulls out her journal and opens up the map function so that Toboe could see what she was doing. Blue had been a part of this city for far too long. "We're here," she says, pointing at the Vanaheim gate area. Her finger moves to point at G6. "Jogo da Crianca is the park. From there... I'm not too sure."

[identity profile] halvedhowl.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 06:33 am (UTC)(link)
"There's nothing to hunt in this city. Well... nothing edible, that is." Lumens were hardly a meal, and she had been on their bad side once; she wasn't looking to go through it again. The natives sell food for simple items though." And old building didn't much narrow it down either. She tries to think. Something abandoned, maybe?

"Perhaps we can move through the city and try to attract him by howling. The domes may help to amplify it."

[identity profile] halvedhowl.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 07:28 am (UTC)(link)
She shrugs, unconcerned. She knows this city a fair extent. "No. The natives don't react to much of... anything. And if it does scare them, they'll get over it quickly. They've been through worse and always seem to bounce back."

She glances off to the side, putting away her journal. "We might attract some other company, but they're alright. Sort of like us, in a way."

[identity profile] halvedhowl.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
"No. There's a half-wolf in the city - not in the same way as I am." Did Toboe know that tidbit? Well. He did now. "And some other that I can't quite pin down, and probably never will." She couldn't blame the guy; if she was back home, or new to Paixao, she would be on edge about letting anyone know of her true form... even if she could pass herself off as a dog.

[identity profile] halvedhowl.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 07:50 am (UTC)(link)
"I think it's because he's from a different world. Things operate differently. He's... peculiar, that's for sure." It didn't explain much, but that's all she could really offer Toboe at the moment. "Don't worry, he's friendly. We should get to searching for Tsume, mm?"

[identity profile] halvedhowl.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 08:08 am (UTC)(link)
Blue knew the city well enough, and with a flash of a grin to Toboe, she bursts out into a run, dodging the random native and being sure not to lose Toboe on the way to the park; it was where she had spent most of her time, but after her injuries that she received from Halloween Town, she had taken to sleeping in a distant alleyway.

Jogo da Crianca at least wasn't a long run from Vanaheim, and Blue had taken to her natural form, if only to prove to Toboe that they were remotely safe like this.

Once she makes it to the edge of the park, she paces around its outer area, then sits amongst the unreal grass, gazing around.

[identity profile] halvedhowl.livejournal.com 2010-12-02 06:54 am (UTC)(link)
"Human smells will cloak most of the city, and then some..." She admits. "Finding one wolf amongst a sea of them..." But then she smiles, tilting her muzzle towards Toboe. They would find him. Somehow, eventually, they would find him.

"This place," she meant the park, "is strange but... often times there are less humans, except off in that direction," she points her nose off towards where the playground rested.

[identity profile] halvedhowl.livejournal.com 2010-12-05 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
Blue stays quiet for awhile, looking around them and trying to think where they might find Tsume. She had first picked up his scent around one of the gates, but after she followed it, it had already been washed over by the numerous other residents and fanned out around.

She sighs. She was much out of practice when it came to tracking.

"...maybe splitting up and taking different halves of the city would be easier."

[identity profile] halvedhowl.livejournal.com 2010-12-17 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
She didn't have any particular way she'd rather go, so she just shrugs and nods over her shoulder. "I'll start out this way, you take the other?" It wasn't a perfect plan, but it'd be something better. "Try not to get too distracted, yeah?" She chuckles.
