With a nod, Riku replied, "Well, it does smell pretty good, at least." There was no denying he was hungry, and his stomach growled. Riku had skipped (or perhaps better said, slept through) breakfast, and he didn't eat anything beforehand. Whether it was that he couldn't eat or so that he might show Timon a thing or two, it wasn't clear yet. Though as a teenage boy, it certainly didn't help. He eyed the meerkat, who was failing so miserably at hiding what he was doing.
