She'd been walking the opposite direction when Kovu's familiar scent caught her nose. Her expression instantly brightened as she turned around to find him standing there, watching her.

His greeting managed to catch her off guard. He'd been aiming to get her to laugh, and a laugh he did get, albeit a bit muted. "Kovu!"

Kiara closed the distance between them with a couple bounds, almost looking like she was going to barrel into him. She stopped just short, and promptly burrowed her face into his dark mane. She'd wanted to see him terribly, but only now did she realize just how much. Everything felt a little better now.
