Lightning knew an injury as severe as Celes' wouldn't hold up much longer, so she calculated the distance and shifted them so she was taking on most of her companion's weight. Just a little bit further.

Soon enough, they'd reached the place and headed inside. Lightning liked higher places - they made better escape routes - so the unfortunate thing was that their trek was going to encompass a couple stairs. At least she assumed so, as she hadn't found any elevators or anything remotely useful yet.

"We have to take the long way up. If you need to stop and rest, tell me. It's no good wearing yourself out more than you already are."

With that, she began to slowly help her companion up the stairs. At least she wasn't all the way at the top, but neither was she at the bottom. After a minute or so of climbing, Lightning tilted her head at Celes and decided to finally ask something that had been bugging her.

"You're in the military in your world, aren't you?"
