"It's complicated," Urd replied briskly. "You wouldn't understand. Just come over here and stand in the center." She pointed out the four circles of empty space within the design, varying in size -- the largest one, apparently designated for Vyers, was surrounded by the most complex designs. "Laharl, you stand there --" a point to the circle towards the left of the center, "--and Timon, you stand there." She pointed to the outer edge, where the smallest circle waited.

The goddess moved away from the center to the opposite edge of Timon, facing the trio. As soon as she stepped into the space, a faint hum rose into the air and several portions of the mandala shifted, changing slightly. Urd bowed her head, hand hovering over her heart. A few seconds later, she lifted her head and arched her back as her angel, World of Elegance, rose up from the light emanating from her back.

Faintly glowing feathers blew across the beach and disappeared into the shadows lurking around the edges of Urd's summoned light.
