“You didn’t know what a genie was. I was only doing my part by properly educating you, that’s all. You can’t blame me for that.” Genie replied and pointed sternly at the beast. He did not share the slightest liking to the tone Beast had used toward him. “I am a free genie and therefore no longer a slave to the lamp I was imprisoned to. It’s not here and wouldn’t make a difference if it were. After sixty thousand years I am out of the wish granting business. I supposed you could call it an early retirement. I’m set on seeing the world, the universe, all that I’ve missed. But instead I’m here, in your apartment, after cleaning it and soon to be speaking with your fellow complex residents to not kick you out. Although, I doubt they could even if they tried.” He smiled and nudged Beast playfully. “That’s good for you.”
“Besides, mixing magic never works well. I’ve seen some pretty ugly results. Trust me, you do not want to get mixed up that. There are worse things than the curse you carry. I may not be able to return you to your human form, not permanently, but there are still several other things I can do for you… If you ask nicely, of course! But I know I won’t have to ask you to use manners.”
