“Wouldn’t understand?” Genie almost looked offended. He was incredibly tempted to jump up and put his magic truly to test on the beast but at the idea of all that could go wrong he successfully managed to restrain himself. Beast wasn’t quite sure what to expect from the genie. Not yet. Of course, no one was completely certain what to expect from him. He did have the tendency to surprise others and rather frequent at that. Genie placed the tea cup down carefully and moved to approach the beast. He would have to deliver this as gently as possible if he wished not to anger Beast.

“I think you underestimate me. I understand much more than you realize, my hairy friend. This may come as some surprise to you but I am a one hundred percent genuinely certified genie! And, being so, I carry more knowledge than one could ever imagine in one lifetime. That includes the ability to recognize the work of an enchantress when I see it…” Genie folded his arms across his chest and grinned proudly. “I know you were not always a beast, although inside may be a different story.” He mumbled the last remark lowly so not to have it reach Beasts ears.
