He has half a mind to ask about her 'pirates' but decides it's not really worth the trouble when he still has a fair amount of water to cross. If she wants to deal with pirates she's well within her rights do so and he hasn't ever made much of a living doing things that are strictly legal. So really he hasn't got much of a leg to stand on.
