Sweetest Of Memories [Active]

Character(s): Naminé, Xion, Roxas, Timon, Simba, and Vyers
Content: The group goes out for ice cream!
Setting: The apartment Naminé shares with Timon, Simba, and Vyers
Time: Week 19, afternoon after they go out for lunch.
Warnings: Possible cuteness?

An argument was only to be expected between Timon and Vyers. Had it not been for their stubbornness, they all would have surly been holding ice cream in their hands and paws a lot sooner. Both appeared to have their own unique take on fashion and both had no trouble finding error in the others choice of what the Nobodies should wear during their outing. It ranged from everything to colours to simply the feel of the fabric itself. The three must have tried on at least twenty different outfits before the meerkat and demon reached an agreement on what worked best. However, even then, the two were notably unsatisfied with the results. Their gaze drifted back to the Nobodies, a look of disapproval given when they caught sight of an article of clothing they found unfit. Like those pants. They did not go with that shirt.

Timon shook his head and folded his arms across his chest. He didn’t care what Vyers said, purple had been a terrible choice. Not that there had been much of a choice, what with the demons wardrobe consisting of almost one colour. Perched on Simba’s head, his gaze travelled back down to the lion. He was glad he never had to worry about clothing him as a cub. He had been trouble enough without trying to dress him. The meerkat could only begin to imagine how well that would have gone over. Pumbaa may have agreed with him regarding his choice of the cub’s wardrobe, the only trouble would have been convincing Simba. When he had his mind set on something, talking him out of it was nearly impossible. The time the cub had decided to make like a monkey and scale the trees like one of them was an excellent example of this. The only way they had managed to get Simba to come down was purely by accident; he had fallen. Thankfully Pumbaa had been there to catch him but Timon had always known those monkeys were a terrible influence…

With a peaceful sigh the meerkat looked up and scanned the area cautiously. Since they had left the apartment he had been on constant watch to ensure that they were not being followed. He had had his suspicions earlier but at this point it had become clear that it had merely been a coincidence that a citizen had been following them for a short while. Timon looked back at the group and groaned. This desert had better of been worth the wait. He didn't understand why they could not have gotten this ice cream stuff back at the restaurant that they had just come from.

“Are we there yet? Lunch was great and all but all this walking is making me hungry again.”

No, they really weren't getting it. Xion didn't know how to sing. As in she didn't know how to put the notes to a pitch. Still, seeing as neither she or Namine were about to be left alone, she cleared her throat to try and muster up some noise. "Hakuna Matata?" she sang, timid but not badly.

Vyers broke out into a wide grin as Xion sang. Short as it was, she didn't sound too bad. "Ah, there, you see? You did wonderfully, my dear. You know how to sing better than you think." He winked playfully and turned to Namine. "And I am certain you are much better than you believe as well."

"That was great, Xion!" Roxas grinned and laughed. It didn't matter that he didn't have his memories, this was definitely the best day ever.

"Come on Naminé, you should try it. It's a lot of fun!"

The smile on Roxas' face was as bright and clear as a sunset on a summer evening.

Noticing that Xion had finally given in, Naminé followed suit. Apparently no one was giving up until they did.

"Um, what a wonderful phrase?"

Well, she wasn't perfect by any means, but she wasn't all that bad, either. Her voice was small, but very pure in tone. Once she'd finished the line, she looked up at everyone nervously.

Simba's grin was a wide as it could get. "That's it!"

Pfffffft. People who didn't know how to sing. That was ridiculous! They did know how to sing. they just didn't know that the knew how.

Simba finished the line. "Hakuna Matataa~ Ain't no passin' craaaze~"

Xion was very confused.

"Um... thank you," she said, awkwardly. At least that meant she wasn't terrible, right? Though she wasn't sure she wanted to keep doing it, with everyone staring...

Ah, there. He knew they would be able to do it. And even if they did seem a little nervous, they all looked like they were enjoying themselves.

Roxas ate the last bite left on his ice cream, and held the stick in his hand for a second before getting up to put it in the garbage. He was all smiles, and, right now, he felt like nothing could make today go wrong.

The setting sun cast a soft red haze over the street where the six of them had all congregated, and it shone brilliantly off Roxas' hair as he stood silhouetted in the sunlight. It was almost like he belonged that way, smiling with the sun behind him.
