By the time the sea-witch rose from the water, Roxas was worried she wasn't going to come at all. The foam gave him a start, but then some relief. After so much time trying, he hated the idea that this was all for nothing.

But as she rose from the water, and he saw her form, his determination wavered. Would she really give him what he wanted? What would her price be? Those...weren't things he had thought of. But it was too late now. She was here, right in front of him. He steeled himself and spoke, trying to keep his voice from shaking.

"I...I want to ask you something," he said, lacking the confidence he had hoped for. He turned away in mid-sentence, speaking the last words to the ground on his left rather than to the sea-witch, and he quietly wished that he hadn't acted so rashly to come to her.
