Put Your Mind at Ease [Active/Open]

Character(s): Dr. Facilier, anyone who wants to join in
Content: Voodoo man, meet Paixao. Paixao, voodoo man. Y'all play nice now.
Setting: Niflheim gate
Time: Week 18, afternoon
Warnings: Well, Facilier's a creep, but that's a given. Also, I shall try to keep things as spoiler-free as possible, so let me know if you haven't seen the movie yet.

Whatever Facilier had been expecting, it certainly hadn’t been this.

Of course, given his particular situation, he really couldn’t have expected much at all. That, he promised himself, was the last time he worked with an out-and-out fool. Then again, he’d thought that would’ve been his last deal period. Anything would be a step up.

He pulled himself to his feet and dusted himself off – never thought he’d see a field like this near the city – then glanced back at his shadow, which glanced left and right and then shrugged. It knew just about as much as he did, huh. Looked like he was starting fresh.

He seemed to have picked quite the place to do it, too. An extensive set of domes, conjoined like a cluster of bubbles, met his eyes when he turned around. Whoever these people were, they sure didn’t do things by halves.

Speaking of people, that line over there looked like easy access. He slid easily into the back – going up front was an option, certainly, but some people remembered little slights for a long time and that was certainly not the impression he wanted to make in a new place, now was it – and waited for the few people in front of him to head in, heading to the front as they passed.

“Name?”

Well if that wasn’t the most disaffected greeting he’d ever heard. “Doctor Facilier,” he returned with his most charming grin. “Nice place you got here.” Who knew – maybe he could get something out of this guy yet.

“Mm. Welcome to Paixao.” A rectangle of some sort and a few pamphlets were shoved into his hands and he was ushered into the gate without so much as a how-do-you-do. So much for that guy, huh.

That was when Facilier turned around and got his first good look at the city. Suddenly, being slighted by some nobody at the gate didn’t seem like such a big deal anymore.
