Laharl couldn't help but cringe as Flonne so unknowingly hit a chord, that made his anger quickly deflate. Flonne nor Etna knew anything about the last time he'd seen either of them. Flonne had been still, in ways, recovering from her own ordeal with the Organization and Etna... the last time he'd seen her she'd helped her to the hospital, a wound to her stomach bleeding.
Clenching and unclenching his hands a few times, Laharl turned away from Flonne, seemingly staring out the window.
He didn't really want to be angry at her, and he really didn't want something bad to happen to her, or Flonne for that matter, again.
Dammit.
Laharl opened his mouth to say something, some excuse... something! But he just couldn't answer her. He couldn't bring himself to lie, but his pride still kept him from feeling willing to admit the truth. Even if he didn't want to be angry at Etna, he still was.
