Tanaka had been easy enough to spot. He recognized the man’s scent almost the moment he stepped into the lobby. At his approach the meerkat pulled himself away from the wall and looked around cautiously before meeting with the cheerleader. He ran his paw through the red tuft of fur on his head, looking away from the man as though to avoid eye contact. This was awkward for him. Very awkward. It wasn’t everyday he actually thanked someone, nor that anyone cared enough to stand up for him. Certainly over the message board but in person? What Tanaka had done was perhaps one of the kindest things anyone had done for him.

“Yeah, hi. I’m fine.” Timon replied, awkwardly scratching the back of his head. His discomfort was likely incredibly obvious but he didn’t care. “Look, uh, about earlier? I just wanted to thank you. I mean what you did… No ones ever done that for me before. I appreciate it – as incredibly stupid as it was. Do you realize what they could have done to you? If you wanna go around playin’ dramatic and hero like you gotta get yourself the build, the smarts and the moves. You know what I mean? Next time I might not be there to save you!”
