"Yeah, I know it sounds pretty far-fetched," said Neirenn. Then again, so was ending up here at all. "But there seem to be plenty of people here who got sucked in like us, and they're not all bad."

She knew, realistically as well as from experience, that against a powerful magic being that she really didn't have much of a chance on her own. But it was still a sting to her pride. Being only fifteen didn't enter into it--not when she'd already graduated.
