A walk to Cid's [completed]
Character: Henrietta
Content: Without fare to pay for a train ride to the center of town, Henrietta decides to walk there instead.
Setting: Just a loooong walk down a quiet road
Time: Wednesday late afternoon, evening
Warnings: None
Henrietta decided not to think of this as a long walk to pick up her ammunition, but as an opportunity to get to know her surroundings... and maybe even find Jose. Even though she had adequate protection by herself, she felt scared and unprotected without him there to guide her.
She started off her travel by asking what appeared to be a local the quickest way to the center of town. Once she had been pointed in the right direction, Henrietta began walking at a brisk pace, hoping to beat the sunset. She wasn't very fond of the idea of having to stay at an inn, alone no less. At least not for now...
For most of her journey, Henrietta kept to the sideroads, avoiding the bustling towns and large gatherings she passed along the way. She didn't feel like attracting unwanted attention, and truthfully, she just wanted to be alone. No confrontations or anything... not until she found Jose.
...
It took a good three hours or so before Henrietta finally made it to the center of Paixao. Her feet ached fiercely and she was quite thirsty, but for the moment the only thing on her mind was restocking on her ammunition. Safety was everything, Jose had taught her.
She walked around awhile, spending most of her time gazing in awe at the massive amounts of people congregated in one place and the large shops that surrounded them. It wasn't long before she found the shop marked "Cid's Shop." Henrietta took a moment to press her face to the glass and take a look around inside. There was a large, very noisy man standing behind the register, whom Henrietta assumed was Cid. Funny, he seemed a bit more... intimidating than how she had imagined him.
In any case, he had what she needed...
Henrietta took a deep breath, clutched her violin case tight in her hand, and walked inside.
