Genie nodded and watched Urd draw back. He thought he had offended her at first, or perhaps made her feel uncomfortable. His intent was only to pamper the winner; it was only out of fun. Simply a dinner between friends (or at least he kept telling himself). In all fairness he had jumped the question rather quickly though. The djinn rubbed his hands together nervously under the table before he caught the smile spread across her lips.

“Well, I didn’t spend the last ten thousand years just sleeping. I’m a genie, not a cat. Cooking, baking – I tried knitting for a bit but Carpet just took off with it. I’ve never been able to keep up with him since. I’ve had quite my share of hobbies over the years. Anyway! If you win, I can assure you that nothing will be forgotten, including your sake for the evening.”

Offering his hand over the table to shake and confirm the bet, the genie grinned. “Game on.”
