To say Braska was surprised as the Heartless slowly rose from the shadows on the floor would have been an understatement. He had heard of the creatures, but never had he seen anything like them before. They certainly looked less fearsome than the fiends of Spira, but there was a strange, unnerving quality about them that was difficult to ignore.
He turned, hearing a noise behind him, and brought his staff around. The Shadow was knocked away and soon dispatched with a quick Fira. A few more of the creatures fell to another round of spells before Braska turned his attention back to the others again. He caught a glimpse of the woman dancing of all things, and wasn't sure what to make of it. It didn't look like a sending dance (which wouldn't have made much sense either, as there wasn't anyone to send in here--or there was, but he doubted the woman knew of that), but as he looked back at the wave of Heartless, he quickly noticed that there was something different about them. They were moving strangely, missing most of their attacks, and whereas before the yellow eyes stuck out like stars in the night, there were no such points of light to be seen.
The realization came quickly. Blind... If it was caused by what he thought it was, then that woman's dance was most certainly something to be commended.
