Stealing Away [completed]

Character(s): Marluxia, Elenra, Xemnas
Content: Marluxia takes Elenra to Xemnas.
Setting: Os Dias Sao a Noite to ???
Time: Late Afternoon/Early Evening, week six
Warnings: Marluxia is creepy. Xemnas will likely pontificate. Larxene goes insane.

If Marluxia were capable of the emotion, he would be furious. He had made progress with the girl. Had he been given enough time, he would have broken her and put her back the way she was supposed to be. he had said that he had had everything taken care of. In all honesty, he didn't care whether or not their visitors ran amok--all the better to distract the fools in the Organization and keep their eyes off of him. But he had thought he had taken the measures needed to keep them in. If they weren't defeated by the Mantid, surely the locks would have kept them inside. A part of him was curious as to just how they managed to get past, the other part of him wanted to find the fools who had managed to slip through and "convince" them never to slip through again. He had better things to do with his time than guard the exit.

But orders were orders and as he was being blamed for the incident, it was better to keep a low profile. The Nobody's mouth was pulled into a tight frown as he warped into the area near the library. He had a feeling she would be here just as he had left her the last time, and he searched for the girl as he entered the building, keeping his hood up for now.

That anger! That seemed more like Number XII, however more... real it was. How could such an 'emotion' reach a Nobody's eyes? Was this guise of 'Elenra' overtaking her even to this extent?

He begins towards her again, narrowing his eyes. "I am your Superior, Larxene. You would do well to remember that, and cast away these memories that are holding you down. They are not real. However you have gotten a hold of them, I would like to know." He stops, a mere few feet from her, wondering in the back of his mind if she would try and flee from him. "This 'Elenra' you speak of is dead."

[identity profile] mercurialectric.livejournal.com 2009-06-05 07:06 am (UTC)(link)
Larxene stood her ground, even though terror made her want to run, and was visible somewhere in her eyes even if it was clouded by anger and confusion. Superior--so was he the leader? That explained the attitude. But as far as she was concerned, it didn't excuse his apparent idiocy.

"I'm Elenra," she said, firmly. "I have no idea what you're talking about."

This close, he could see her emotions, as clear as they could be. As wrong as they were. Xemnas' face sinks more into dislike as he faces down this woman. It isn't just a small change, or that she thinks she's Elenra, or even an illusion. "How is this possible?" he says, voice raising louder for the first time.

He should have noticed it sooner. "What have you done, Larxene? Where have you been?" No, that wasn't going to work right now. "Elenra, what's the first thing you remember about being in this city?" Ah. That may do.

If not... he had other methods. How dare she... After all their work, their efforts... For her to have found something on her own? He would not put it completely past a neophyte, of course. But perhaps, this time, he was wrong about his hypothesis.

[identity profile] mercurialectric.livejournal.com 2009-06-05 07:31 am (UTC)(link)
Elenra did take a step back at his sudden excitement--though it seemed more hollow than it should have been. Still, it was only a step, and she regained it as soon as she realized. "I--I was in a shop."

She didn't see why it mattered. She knitted her fingers together, wringing them nervously--force of habit, and she stopped it quickly. It wouldn't do to let him know he was getting to her.

Nerves.

A weak emotion.

Is this what the Organization tried so hard to gain? No. She was a mere imitation of something more real, more difficult to obtain. Whatever Larxene had stumbled across, it made her weaker than the shell she was before.

"What shop?" he asks, settling. Imitation or not, it wasn't something Xemnas was willing to put up with. Eventually, Larxene may understand - this he only hoped, because loyalty to him and the Organization mattered most.

[identity profile] mercurialectric.livejournal.com 2009-06-05 07:47 am (UTC)(link)
"Yuuko's," she said, part of her regretting selling the woman out, the other just concerned with getting away from this alive. And she didn't want to

everyonesdeadeveryoneandshedidntwantto

die.

[identity profile] paixaonpcsorg.livejournal.com 2009-06-05 07:56 am (UTC)(link)
Another slip of emotion across her face. He turns away from her, unable to look at what misfortune has fallen to the once 'Savage' Nymph. "I will tell you once more," he drawls, "Your name is Larxene. You work for Organization XIII. You are a Nobody, one who is destined to not exist. The heart of the woman Elenra was swallowed by darkness, presumably after her world was attacked by Heartless."

He looks over his shoulder to her. "Does this sound familiar, Elenra?"

[identity profile] mercurialectric.livejournal.com 2009-06-05 08:02 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm not-- Heartless?" Again with that word, and it didn't seem like it was some planned fabrication. The Heartless attacked her world...? The--the news, the police warnings, those--those black things that had shown up, first only one or two, and then they were everywhere.

Her eyes were wide, her pupils pinpricks.

"Heartless?" she repeated.

[identity profile] paixaonpcsorg.livejournal.com 2009-06-05 08:15 am (UTC)(link)
Another memory, perhaps? Good. They could get somewhere, now.

"Yes, Heartless. Beings of darkness given tangible shape and form." He gestures to his side, wishing for a moment he could call one forward. Although, even a mere Dusk may give her a fright... Recall more memories of 'Elenra', cause her to fear her own skin and wish she hadn't stepped foot in Yuuko's shop.

He may have to send someone to see that woman.

From behind Larxene, a Dusk appears from an opening corridor, as summoned by Xemnas. How would she react now, slowly absorbing her memories, when threatened by an unknown creature? Perhaps for the second time. Would she quiver and cower? Give in instantly?

The Dusk skirts close behind her.

[identity profile] mercurialectric.livejournal.com 2009-06-05 08:22 am (UTC)(link)
Elenra reacted instantly, before she'd even processed what it was--because she had no idea. Her foot came out sharply, aiming a kick at the thing's head, trying to impale it with her heel. It squirmed back--how could it move like that--and disappeared, which she was grateful for. But what was it, and why had she reacted like that?

Heartless hadn't looked like that, but they'd looked close enough. ...Heartless? Yes, they had to be. Those inky black things that had come to her home, that had killed people. Eaten their hearts, the police had said. And so she'd gone home.

But she'd seen these things, too--sometimes. But what were they? Her memories flitted just out of reach. At home, she'd seen white things like that--thing.

She was shivering, and didn't notice.

[identity profile] paixaonpcsorg.livejournal.com 2009-06-05 08:31 am (UTC)(link)
She was still Larxene at the heart - heh - of her being, then. He faces her again, eyes watchful as always, inspecting her as if she were one of the many experiments that the Organization processes.

"Interesting," he says, although there is no emotion to back up the word. "You seem surprised by your own actions. But, Elenra," her name is said lightly, like it didn't matter. Something that could be tossed out a window and forgotten. "Didn't you know you could move like that? Larxene, of course, can. And so much more. She would not look so frail in the face of the enemy."

He shakes his head and chuckles softly to himself. "Oh, that's right though. You still think that you're a dead woman. How foolish."

[identity profile] mercurialectric.livejournal.com 2009-06-05 08:37 am (UTC)(link)
A dead woman? No, that was impossible. "I'm not dead," she said, petulant, refusing, even as she thought about it.

The Heartless had come to her home, had invaded the city--had gone from city to city, really, but eventually came to hers, and she'd rushed home, trying to ignore how dark the shadows looked as she went on her way. She'd rushed home, and found the door open, and--

The trembling only increased.

[identity profile] paixaonpcsorg.livejournal.com 2009-06-05 08:46 am (UTC)(link)
"Of course not. Larxene is very much alive - as much as a Nobody can be, of course." Which in reality isn't saying much. They did not exist. They walked the twilight, the line between the light and the darkness. As would be their fate, until...

It was like placating a child, this conversation. Although in the worst of ways. The method was what mattered, though. The damage could be cleaned up once the Nobody surfaced. Elenra's 'heart' may break, but a Nobody has no heart to be shattered. No pieces to put back together.

"Cast away the false guise of one bathed in light! Elenra is no more! Forget the dead. You serve the Organization, Number XII. As you are now, you are useless to everyone. Hardly able to fend for yourself."

[identity profile] mercurialectric.livejournal.com 2009-06-05 08:50 am (UTC)(link)
The dead. The dead she'd found in the house--her sister, her parents, their bodies surrounded by those black things--Heartless, she had a name for them now. Surrounded by heartless and then they'd--More black things. Out of the bodies of her family. And that was where she saw the white thing, which she still had no name for. From her sister's body. The corner of her mouth twisted up, into a smile, and then farther than that.

"I'm alive," she said. "I am, but no one else is. No one else was. I killed them. The--Heartless? And the white thing. And then--there were people, but I killed them, too. Before the Heartless could get there. Before--"

She laughed. It wasn't Larxene's normal, mocking trill, nor was it Elenra's innocent one.

[identity profile] paixaonpcsorg.livejournal.com 2009-06-05 09:00 am (UTC)(link)
Xemnas only watches her, expressionless, as she crumbles away, the emotion too much for a Nobody to bear. Or perhaps it was a mere traumatic past, at least by the sounds of it. Either way, Xemnas cared little.

"I wonder if you can remember yet who did this too you. And how. Such painful memories, aren't they, Number XII? Treading through the light merely welcomes pain. If only we knew how to put you back together... we could fix this, so easily."

It might not be easy. It might be one terrible mess that might not even be worth it. But the woman knew too much, and if she wasn't going to fall in line as their twelfth member, then she would have to be locked away, or killed.

[identity profile] mercurialectric.livejournal.com 2009-06-05 09:05 am (UTC)(link)
It hurt. It hurt, and she wanted it to stop hurting. She clutched at her chest reflexively, not even sure why she was doing it. But she wanted--

"Make it stop," she hissed, and while she was laughing the pain was evident on her face. "It hurts, make it stop!"

Electricity arced from her body, the air cracking loudly as the air rushed to make room for it. She withdrew from the deafening noise, only to hear another as another bolt flew from her.

[identity profile] paixaonpcsorg.livejournal.com 2009-06-05 09:13 am (UTC)(link)
He steps towards her, as careful as he could be of the lightning coursing across her form, and then he crouches down before her, regarding her neutrally. "This 'Yuuko' woman," he says, "you said you found herself in her shop. Why were you there, Larxene? Is she the cause of this?"

If that were the case, he could have Number XI retrieve the woman and take her back to that shop, and hopefully fix this mess up. Otherwise, he wasn't so sure where to move from here, without any answers from Larxene.

He supposes he could still send Larxene to there; if that was where 'Elenra' woke, then maybe this Yuuko would be forthcoming with answers about why she was there in the first place. ...Especially with someone teetering over the brink of insanity within her shop.

[identity profile] mercurialectric.livejournal.com 2009-06-05 09:17 am (UTC)(link)
She shook her head wildly. "I don't know, I don't know."

And the electricity only increased, a lightningstorm contained within a room, entirely uncontrolled and unfocused. What was going on, why was this happening, why did it hurt so much--?

"Take me to her," she demanded. "Yuuko."

She wasn't sure why. It was a raw feeling, but all of her feelings were raw. She wanted them to stop.

[identity profile] paixaonpcsorg.livejournal.com 2009-06-05 09:25 am (UTC)(link)
He nods and stands, raising a shield of energy to block the lightning storm from doing him harm. "Marluxia will take you. He is under the Organization, just as you." And had better do as ordered, otherwise...

"I will be back," he tells her, turning away. He summons several Sorcerer Nobodies to guard the corners of the room; they would be able to withstand her electricity with no problem.

He leaves out of a portal of darkness, intent on sending word for Number XI.

[identity profile] mercurialectric.livejournal.com 2009-06-05 09:49 am (UTC)(link)
Elenra wasn't even aware of the creatures he had called, too lost in her own thoughts to care. She needed to get to Yuuko and--she wasn't even sure what. Make this stop. All of this, it hurt too much.

And somehow it was all sickly amusing, every bit of pain that lanced through her body and everything she remembered, all that blood and death, killing her sister after her sister had died--she laughed, hysterically.

Everything seemed funny right now.

((Hey Hayley, you may wanna edit the warning slightly whenever you're back around XD;; Marly can just tag back in after Xemnas.))

He returns shortly after sending a message for Number XI, only to find that her state hadn't much improved. Worsened some, maybe. He shakes his head, realizing how much of this shattered Elenra could have carried over to Larxene. The main difference was that Larxene didn't have the burden of emotions from a weak heart.

Xemnas doesn't dare get close to her again. He waits for Number XI's arrival, resting against a far wall, arms crossed as he contemplates what had happened here.

A weak heart, that was it, he understood. Strong enough to become a higher ranked Nobody, but weak in other regards. Larxene may have somehow cut corners and found herself a 'real' heart (though he would like to believe it was all imitation), yet her reactions did not mean they would be the same for the rest of Organization XIII.

Marluxia had better hurry. Xemnas had business to attend to, other than piecing the Organization back together. They should be capable of doing that themselves, by default.

[identity profile] mercurialectric.livejournal.com 2009-06-05 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Elenra's attentions were drawn only for a moment to the man who had brought her here, and that irrational anger that she had normally been so good at keeping in control boiled again, sending electricity toward the man. But she didn't mind, maybe he would die, and that would be funny.

She giggled.

[identity profile] paixaonpcsorg.livejournal.com 2009-06-05 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Xemnas' eyes shift to Number XI's arrival, but he doesn't move, nor give Number XII any notice. Surely Marluxia had put up with her electricity before.

This insanity of hers had to end. If Marluxia cannot handle this task, then he would just have to call for someone more reliable; Saïx, perhaps. He speaks as though he doesn't notice the woman's hostility to the other.

"There is a woman called Yuuko who owns a shop in the city. Take Number XII to her."
