A new show on the block [Active]

Character(s): Hades and party goers! A handful of natives, and later a crapton of Neoshadows.
Content: After the Doctor gets back from his trip to the church.
Setting: Ceu de Mouraria
Time: Evening; Week 2
Warnings: None at the moment. Will probably be later |D

OOC note (UPDATED): Okay, so, Hades has made his official introduction. Anyone that still wants to join is stuck outside (I’d like to think I gave folk plenty of time to join if they really wanted); characters can try to find a way in, but any doors are sealed shut and darkness is sort of flowing from them. Outside the main doors is a pair of panicky natives. Poor Paixaoans. Or whatever we call them.

Anyone who is still inside, you can’t get out until Hades is satisfied just like people can’t get in. The ones who are more the ‘lighthearted’ and ‘good’ guys are obviously the ones getting more attention from the Heartless. Though if others join in to attack than hey, fair game. Unless you reek of darkness and more powerful than them *cough*Rozalin*cough* Neoshadows are more intelligent, after all. omg and they suck to fight, dammit CoM!

What can I say? Hades wanted a coliseum :| So I gave him one. :D;; Even if this isn’t quite the same. But ICly he has a goal in mind. *shrugs*

You can respond to Hades’ post, or start new comment chains. Whichever is… easiest.

Ceu de Mouraria seemed to be the perfect place to hold a party – at least, that was how Hades found it. All he really wanted was the space; the more guests, the better, eh? And by the sounds of things… he was attracting a decent turnout. He wondered how many of them really knew the event as a ‘trap’ and how many were just too damn naïve to keep up with the times. Either way, he didn’t mind too much, as long as they came.

Courtesy of the ever lovely and fascinating (oh, how she proved the easily changing allegiances people could have) Rosemary, secretary to Paixao’s former mayor, he enlisted more ‘help’ from the citizens that already worked at the opera house. They were the ones who stood outside, welcoming guests within – smiles and youthful faces as always – and moved around the inner parts of the venue offering drinks (alcoholic, of course) and small finger-food from a local café. Really, Hades might actually owe Rosemary a thanks or two.

And if asked about the drinks, whether or not they were poisonous, any of the citizens were willing to take a drink of one just to prove their safety. Hades wasn’t about to kill anyone, after all. He would play the ‘good’ host at least for now; let as many people in as possible, then make his grand appearance and let the real show begin.

He could hardly maintain his excitement.

Jazzy music filled the building, circling around and filtering out to welcome guests to the inside…

Larxene observed the man onstage--aha, there was their host--with a detached sort of interest. Now things would be getting interesting, and judging by his entrance, Hades had a love of flair. She glanced once at Marluxia, but then her attention stole over to the slamming doors and heartless appearing in droves.

She doubted they would pay much attention to her, though. What use was a Nobody to a Heartless? And if they wouldn't attack her, she wouldn't attack them. Not yet.

"And now the game really starts," she commented, sipping her drink as if nothing out of the ordinary was happening.

Marluxia watched the dancer's presentation. It was a beautiful dance to be sure, something he could appreciate, though there was a hollowness to it all that made the performance less than stellar. But he hadn't come here for the dancers to begin with and so when their host finally made his appearance, Marluxia found himself paying much more rapt attention.

As the doors slammed closed, he turned to his companion curiously, seeming not to notice the mob of Heartless stampeding close by. "Should we jump into the fray and see if we can't give ourselves a better public image or would you rather wait and watch them panic for awhile?"

[identity profile] mercurialectric.livejournal.com 2009-03-01 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
"We shouldn't let them have all the fun, should we?" Larxene said, and even then she was crackling with electricity, the charge bouncing her hair back into its normal antennae style and zapping a heartless, drawing some onto her.

What was a party without a game or two? And heartless were just so easy to play with.

[identity profile] 11deadlypetals.livejournal.com 2009-03-01 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
"A fair point," he replied, but before he even dropped into a fighting position, he finished his drink and set the glass off to the side. There was no sense in wasting it when he'd been the one to fetch it in the first place, was there?

Marluxia threw his hand into the air as a lone petal drifted lazily from the ceiling into his outstretched hand. With a flash of light and an explosion of flower petals, his scythe appeared, the Graceful Assassin immediately using it to send a wave of energy at the Heartless, slicing a small group of them in half.

[identity profile] mercurialectric.livejournal.com 2009-03-01 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
"Pity they need to be coerced to play," Larxene commented as she grabbed a pair of neoshadows, one of which she electrocuted as she gripped its neck and the other she tossed in the direction of Marluxia's scythe. "Though I suppose we wouldn't make much of a meal."

She laughed, and there was no sweetness in it, as she watched the hearyless fry in her grip.

[identity profile] 11deadlypetals.livejournal.com 2009-03-01 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Marluxia whipped his scythe around at the Heartless sent his way, watching as it split in half before fading into wisps of darkness. He sent another wave of energy into the mass, watching the next group dissipate. "I suppose not," he mused with the smallest of smiles as he cut through another charging neoshadow. "And they are, after all, little more than mindless animals looking for a meal."

He sent a group of heartless Larxene's way, carving through any that got too close.

[identity profile] mercurialectric.livejournal.com 2009-03-01 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
Larxene guided the heartless that charged for her with carefully controlled electricity, arcing from her like ribbons as she spun elegantly on her heels. She hadn't pulled her kunai out--there was no need. The shadowy creatures fell easily to the lightning she fed them, and those that got too close she simply sent in a circle around her and back to Marluxia.

It was almost a dance.

"Good thing they're so desperate, or it'd be boring."

[identity profile] 11deadlypetals.livejournal.com 2009-03-01 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
Marluxia, on the other hand, was electing to use his weapon as much as possible. He didn't need any of the onlookers to see what he could really do, not yet anyway. He would keep it simple for now.

He picked off the remnants of Larxene's dance, turning his back to hers, knowing that Larxene would watch his own. He could trust her enough to do that, at least.

[identity profile] mercurialectric.livejournal.com 2009-03-01 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
Larxene didn't need to look to know Marluxia's position, and she took a quick step back to close the distance somewhat, creating an arc of electricity before her to make the heartless fall back away as she did so. It was easily enough accomplished, and soon she summoned up more, her fingers crackling as she shot the electricity out of them and into a group of unfortunate neoshadows.

"My, my, they're persistent once you work them up," she said with a giggle.

[identity profile] 11deadlypetals.livejournal.com 2009-03-02 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
"It means nothing," Marluxia replied, twirling his scythe above him before bringing it down in front of him in a wide arc, sending a wave of energy at another mass of neoshadows. He took down another down out of mid-air as it leaped at him. "They're too mindless to be much of a challenge."

"Though I suppose attempting to clear them all out is as good a challenge as any."

[identity profile] mercurialectric.livejournal.com 2009-03-03 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
"Maybe we'll draw the attention of something more fun," Larxene suggested as, finally drawing a kunai, she shoved the blade through the head of a neoshadow with one vicious downward thrust. "I suppose getting medals for defending the people would be asking for a bit much, hm?" She giggled, sending a handful of heartless sailing into the air with a blast of electricity.

[identity profile] 11deadlypetals.livejournal.com 2009-03-05 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
"I imagine so," he replied coolly as he slammed the blunt end of his scythe into a nearby Heartless to knock it away before bringing the blade down on another, twisting it to better pull the scythe into a wide, horizontal strike against another group. "It's too bad, really."

[identity profile] mercurialectric.livejournal.com 2009-03-05 02:18 pm (UTC)(link)
"I suppose we could go for the main course," Larxene said with an offhand gesture to Hades (sending off sparks that took out more heartless as she did so), "but it seems the hero is already doing that."

She was referring to Sora and his little friends, of course. One of them she recognized as the keybearer's friend, the other Sora had probably picked up along the way. But it wouldn't do to draw quite that much attention, fighting the interlopers of city hall so directly, and so she called down a lightningstorm instead, thrilling as the heartless before her either died writhing or scurried along around her to escape and, consequently, ran right into Marluxia's line of sight.

[identity profile] 11deadlypetals.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 08:11 am (UTC)(link)
Marluxia glanced over at the battle between Sora, the friends he'd picked up, and Hades before looking back over at Larxene. "I wouldn't want to deprive him of the honor of taking out the leader," he replied. "If he continues to fight, we'll see just what exactly he's capable of."

He debated further herding the Heartless the Keyblade Master's way, but thought better on it. There were too many people in the way that would distract the Heartless. Doubtful they'd make it to their target destination at all; it'd be a waste.

Marluxia put a little more power into the wave of energy he sent at the Heartless this time, and it continued through the group Larxene had sent toward him and into the mob of Heartless nearby, slicing a large hole in the mass.

[identity profile] mercurialectric.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, of course, the hero must defeat the boss," Larxene purred, shifting a bit so she could watch Sora from a better angle. "He's so predictable."

It was obvious Hades was working him up, and Larxene could only laugh to see it, even as she embedded a kunai in a heartless's head. If he got angry he would get careless, and then he would die. But the little hero had gotten far enough in destroying the heartless that she doubted he would die tonight.

Not until he had worn out his usefulness, at least.

[identity profile] 11deadlypetals.livejournal.com 2009-03-12 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
He certainly hoped the boy wouldn't end up dead. While he didn't intend to go with the plan he had before, the Keyblade Master still had his uses and Marluxia planned to exploit every single one of them to the best of his power. A dead tool was a useless one.

The nobody hopped back, closer to Larxene. "So, when should we allow the masses to continue as they were?" he asked her. "Or would you rather stay until the end?"

[identity profile] mercurialectric.livejournal.com 2009-03-12 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
Larxene tilted her head, considering even as she kicked a Nobody across the room. "It would be bad to draw too much attention, wouldn't it," she said after a while, although she sounded a bit disappointed. "I suppose we should leave before we outstay our welcome."

[identity profile] 11deadlypetals.livejournal.com 2009-03-13 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
Marluxia couldn't say he was entirely happy to leave before they could see how it all ended either, but it was true. They'd be noticed eventually, and, when they were, they wouldn't exactly be the most welcomed of guest. It was a wonder no one had called them out already.

"So then, shall we stay for just a little while longer?"

[identity profile] mercurialectric.livejournal.com 2009-03-13 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
"It would be a shame to leave right when things are getting interesting," Larxene said, and of course she was referring to the growing conflict between the god and the keybearer. "But we shouldn't stay too long, just the same."

She kicked a neoshadow down and crushed its head with a firm stomp.

[identity profile] 11deadlypetals.livejournal.com 2009-03-13 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
Marluxia nodded, bringing down a couple more groups of Neoshadows. "Just a little longer, then," he decided. "Unlikely they'd show everything they have on their first performance anyway."

[identity profile] mercurialectric.livejournal.com 2009-03-13 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's a shame, really," Larxene said. "But I'm sure we'll see the best of them before long."

Larxene tugged a particularly annoying neoshadow up with a well-aimed shock, grabbed it in one hand, and proceeded to watch, smiling viciously at it, as she strangled the life out of it.

[identity profile] 11deadlypetals.livejournal.com 2009-03-17 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
Marluxia laughed. "As long as you're having fun," he called over his shoulder before driving his scythe into a Neoshadow's leg. He swiftly pulled it up, splitting the Heartless in half. The two halves lingered for a moment before dissipating.

[identity profile] mercurialectric.livejournal.com 2009-04-28 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Larxene giggled, sounding genuinely delighted if you didn't know that was impossible for one such as her. "Such a gentleman, looking after the needs of a lady," she said. "But what about you, I wouldn't want you bored, either."

It was as dangerous as it was a play at friendliness--a Marluxia in search of something to occupy his time with was a hungry cat looking for prey, after all.

She dropped the lifeless corpse of the neoshadow and stepped on it as it disappeared, moving to take two more with one kunai each.

[identity profile] 11deadlypetals.livejournal.com 2009-04-29 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, you don't have to worry about me," he replied, shoving the blunt end of his scythe into the stomach area of one of the Heartless before kicking another into it. "I think I have enough to hold my interest for now." For now. The other people fighting were interesting enough subjects to watch for when he tired of fighting. He doubted Larxene would mind picking up a little of the work, especially with how much she seemed to be enjoying herself at the moment.

"And I wouldn't want to distract you."
