A new show on the block [Active]

Character(s): Hades and party goers! A handful of natives, and later a crapton of Neoshadows.
Content: After the Doctor gets back from his trip to the church.
Setting: Ceu de Mouraria
Time: Evening; Week 2
Warnings: None at the moment. Will probably be later |D

OOC note (UPDATED): Okay, so, Hades has made his official introduction. Anyone that still wants to join is stuck outside (I’d like to think I gave folk plenty of time to join if they really wanted); characters can try to find a way in, but any doors are sealed shut and darkness is sort of flowing from them. Outside the main doors is a pair of panicky natives. Poor Paixaoans. Or whatever we call them.

Anyone who is still inside, you can’t get out until Hades is satisfied just like people can’t get in. The ones who are more the ‘lighthearted’ and ‘good’ guys are obviously the ones getting more attention from the Heartless. Though if others join in to attack than hey, fair game. Unless you reek of darkness and more powerful than them *cough*Rozalin*cough* Neoshadows are more intelligent, after all. omg and they suck to fight, dammit CoM!

What can I say? Hades wanted a coliseum :| So I gave him one. :D;; Even if this isn’t quite the same. But ICly he has a goal in mind. *shrugs*

You can respond to Hades’ post, or start new comment chains. Whichever is… easiest.

Ceu de Mouraria seemed to be the perfect place to hold a party – at least, that was how Hades found it. All he really wanted was the space; the more guests, the better, eh? And by the sounds of things… he was attracting a decent turnout. He wondered how many of them really knew the event as a ‘trap’ and how many were just too damn naïve to keep up with the times. Either way, he didn’t mind too much, as long as they came.

Courtesy of the ever lovely and fascinating (oh, how she proved the easily changing allegiances people could have) Rosemary, secretary to Paixao’s former mayor, he enlisted more ‘help’ from the citizens that already worked at the opera house. They were the ones who stood outside, welcoming guests within – smiles and youthful faces as always – and moved around the inner parts of the venue offering drinks (alcoholic, of course) and small finger-food from a local café. Really, Hades might actually owe Rosemary a thanks or two.

And if asked about the drinks, whether or not they were poisonous, any of the citizens were willing to take a drink of one just to prove their safety. Hades wasn’t about to kill anyone, after all. He would play the ‘good’ host at least for now; let as many people in as possible, then make his grand appearance and let the real show begin.

He could hardly maintain his excitement.

Jazzy music filled the building, circling around and filtering out to welcome guests to the inside…

"Hades!"

Sora broke from his position as soon as he saw the god, ignoring what he was saying entirely and paying no attention to the slamming doors, even though he had been right next to them, keyblade in hand. He would go right for the source.

And then the heartless showed up, and he realized he was surrounded by them. No matter, he'd work his way through. Swiping this way and that with talent borne from practice and necessity, he never let his eyes leave Hades for more than a few moments. He leapt off the ground and into the air after a moment, using the keyblade NiGHTS had given him to his advantage, but the Neoshadows still posed a threat, and his progress was slow.

I hope I'm doing this right

It had taken too long. By the time he caught sight of Sora, Riku had several minor wounds and places sure to ache for weeks. He probably shouldn't have broken cover, he thought. Still, he'd rather fight together than alone.

He knew better now.

"Hey!" He shouted, briefly shielding himself to throw off a Heartless on his trail. He leapt forward, cutting down the last in his path. He reached Sora and shook his head, readying another spell. "What do you think you're doing, trying to take on all these Heartless by yourself?"

[identity profile] keychainheart.livejournal.com 2009-02-26 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, good, Riku was here, too. Despite the situation Sora grinned at his friend, slicing down through the air to prevent a Neoshadow from leaping at the both of them. His mood became serious a moment later, though.

"We have to get to Hades," Sora said, pointing his weapon in the god's direction. "What's one or two heartless?"

One or two or a room full of them. But if he was here and Riku was here, they'd be okay. Sora was just worried about everyone else. He slammed down on top of another heartless, preventing it from tackling a terrified citizen.

"One or two," Riku echoed, scoffing. He threw a ball of flame at a Heartless in mid-air, striking it down as it fell. "Always the optimist, Sora." He moved backwards as he kept fighting, trying to narrow the ground between the two of them. "Any plans for what we're going to do when we reach Hades?" He automatically glanced around, trying to see if anyone was in danger nearby.

"Take him down," Sora said, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. He darted down and smashed his way through more heartless, ignoring the sharp little pains of their claws trying to tear into his flesh and reach his heart. He kept them at bay with his keyblade, and that was what mattered. "The sooner the better."

Hope You Don't Mind

Static wasn't as shocked by this turn of events as he probably should have been, his conversation with Sora had confirmed that something bad was likely to happen...

he just hadn't realized it would take the form of a large group of shadows.

"Yo! When did Ebon start multiplying," Static quipped as he pulled his collapsible disc from his inner pocket. He barely had time to extend it and hop on before the first heartless slashed down at him, "Whoa!" Static had been charging up electricity and blasted it back as he got on his board. He wouldn't be able to fly high or very easily in here but Static figured being in the air was better than being in that crowd.

Speaking of which...Sora was down there. Static figured he knew what these things were too but he'd lost him when the attack had started. It was amazing how easy it was to lose someone in the middle of a small club. The heartless had also figured out there their meal was just over head...and Static found out shortly after that they were damn good jumpers. "Hey! I don't pick up hitchhikers," he shouted when one clawed its way onto his disc. He super charged his hand with electricity again and shocked it.

He caught sight of a giant key and made for that direction, fending off some heartless with electric blasts or just using the electricity to move them out of the way...they were actually trickier than Ebon had ever been which was saying something. "Sora! Hey, need a hand," Static called, his hands lighting up again as he used his power to pick up one or two heartless and toss them aside.

Nope!

"Sounds like a plan," Riku said, smacking a Heartless back just as it clawed at his arm. "Let's do it." He ignored the stinging and finished it off, glancing up just as he saw several bolts of electricity moving overhead. There was someone moving around above them.

If they were willing to help, he certainly wasn't going to stop them.

Anything Static and Riku might have said was lost in the face of Hades's words, and again Sora surged forward, slicing through the heartless that got in his way and working around the others, his eyes locked on those of the ruler of the underworld.

"Why don't you come over here? Or are you scared!" Sora called back, not stopping to see where Riku or Static were.

[identity profile] notabattery.livejournal.com 2009-03-03 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
Static caught sight again of the guy on the stage and he looked pissed. He was also on fire and Static wasn't sure what to make of that...only that it reminded him of Hotstreak. So he had creatures like Ebon and a pissed off bluish looking guy who made Hotstreak look like a calm and controlled member of society.

He also noticed that the guy seemed to piss off Sora fairly easily. Knowing how personal vendettas could be Static just stuck to blasting Heartless out of the way with balls of electricity.

[identity profile] breakingapath.livejournal.com 2009-03-03 07:23 am (UTC)(link)
"Sora, don't encourage him!" Riku said in between Heartless, casting a shield over both of them as he attempted to destroy the creatures Sora had missed. He was torn between concern and annoyance; trust the other to get overly reckless at a time like this. He managed to break his way through to stand inches from the Keybearer, slightly out of breath. "Focus."

[identity profile] keychainheart.livejournal.com 2009-03-06 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Sora growled and batted at the fireball with his keyblade even as he surged forward, and while it still scorched him the fireball didn't knock him back. If anything, he was only more determined to get to Hades and beat him down. Slashing an unfortunate neoshadow in half, he charged forward in a blind run.

"I stopped you before, I can do it again!" He pitched his keyblade at Hades like a boomerang.

[identity profile] notabattery.livejournal.com 2009-03-10 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
"I always thought taunting was part of the gig," Static retorted, after all, generally if you pushed enough buttons the bad guy would snap and make a mistake. Granted you sometimes had to deal with the blows between then but as long as you didn't die it was alright.

Static formed another ball of lightening in between his hands before hurling it at more of the shadow creatures. He noticed Sora's keyblade take flight and smirked, deciding to help it a bit and zapped it with a charge, meaning whatever it hit was going to get a nice shock.

[identity profile] breakingapath.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
Riku was on Sora's heels as the other rushed forward, getting rid of any Neoshadows that were directly trying to attack them. He felt the darkness fluctuating as they moved, and the quick glance he managed to get of the room showed several other groups fighting off Heartless. Some of the people appeared familiar, and a nagging feeling grew in his mind.

Not now, he told himself. "Don't expect me to help you up if you trip!" Riku said to Sora, catching up and running beside his friend.

[identity profile] keychainheart.livejournal.com 2009-03-12 07:11 am (UTC)(link)
Sora gaped at the underhanded tactic, shooting a healing spell at the woman even as he called his keyblade back to his hands. "Why don't you pick on someone your own size?"

And, leaping off the head of a Neoshadow, his allies forgotten in his fury, he took to the air, charging in a top speed dive at Hades, keyblade out like a lance. He couldn't let Hades hurt anyone else, so he'd have to stop him fast.

[identity profile] notabattery.livejournal.com 2009-03-15 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Static's eyes widened as Hades did the most underhanded thing possible, he pulled in a 'civilian.' Static flew over to check on the discarded woman, reaching her just as the healing spell hit her from Sora. Static helped her to stand but she seemed really upset and didn't seem to want his help any more than she wanted to be with Hades. Static had to admit he was a little hurt, he was trying to help after all.

He glared at Hades and realized that instead of fighting him they needed to figure out a way to get the civilians out of here. Static flew over to the nearest door and attempted to open it but it wasn't budging, "Dang, no wonder this guy is the ruler of the underworld...he just pulls all sorts of low tactics."

[identity profile] breakingapath.livejournal.com 2009-03-18 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
Riku hissed under his breath as he quickly sent out a shield to protect himself, shoving the nearest civilians away from the battle zone and destroying the few straggling Heartless. He skirted the edge of the area as he positioned himself behind Hades, raising his Keyblade up. If he had to, he could temporarily distract the god.
