Hojo actually smiled a little, though it was more of an amused smirk than anything else.

"Don't think I could use anything bigger," he said honestly. He wasn't much for impressive weaponry. He wasn't even completely comfortable using materia, even though he did when he had to. If it came down to actual attacking, he had no interest in impressing anyone with fancy weapons. Hojo didn't really win fights so much as he escaped from them.
