Tik Tak Toe (complete)
Character(s): Tak and whoever wants to play with her
Content: Tak arrives in Paixao and collects her con-swag.
Setting: Niflheim gate (G10)
Time: Day
Warnings: MIND-BULLETS!... no. not really... Just some minor hypnosis of any weak-minded characters or NPCs...
Tak's escape pod came careening through the sky, set ablaze by its entry into the planet's atmosphere. It was a glorious sight for those on the ground.
The chances of the tentacled pod landing in the vast ocean were astronomical, and yet it somehow managed to make its way to dry land, colliding with the ground in an explosion of dirt. As the smoke cleared, a figure immerged slowly, coughing and clambering out of the wreckage.
Tak tumbled down out of what was left of her ship, choking on the foul-smelling smoke that surrounded her. She gritted her teeth and squinted, trying to make out her surroundings as she climbed the side of the crater and looked around at the horrible, grassy world.
She frowned as she spotted some creatures, standing in a line that reached towards the elaborate entrance of a massive building. The disgusting fools seemed to be on their way to the slaughter. They appeared to be human. If they were, by some fluke, the dominant species on this planet, then it would behoove her to blend in with them. Tak saw no overseers to indicate who the true masters were and so for the moment, she decided that she would hide among the human livestock, until she could better assess the situation.
She activated her disguise and walked toward the humans.
Tak looked around the gargantuan creatures ahead of her to see that one of them in the front appeared to be taking names. She did not think it was customary to take the names of livestock before they were slaughtered and this helped to further the notion that the humans might indeed be dominant here.
After a surprisingly short wait, Tak found herself at the front of the line and confronting the name-taker. “Hi!” she said before the disgusting creature could speak. “I’m Tak.”
“Welcome to Paixao,” the name-taker replied with a stupid smile. “Here’s your journal and some information on the city. Enjoy your stay.”
“Thanks,” Tak said, continuing to smile in a friendly Earth-fashion as she accepted the objects the human offered her and tucked them into her pak. “What star-system is this?” she asked in a lower, harsher voice and her eyes flashed.
The human was blank for a moment, staring at her, seeming lost. Then it smiled. “Hello. Welcome to Paixao. May I have your name please?”
Tak frowned. The stupid human didn’t know, apparently. “Who rules this place?” she demanded, her eyes flashing again.
Again, the filthy human stared at her blankly for a moment before smiling. “Hello. Welcome to Paixao. May I have your name please?”
It seemed that the pathetic creature knew absolutely nothing. Ignorant beast. Tak gritted her teeth in anger and then put on a charming smile. “Tak,” she supplied. The human smiled and turned to its list, pausing to look confused when it found her name already written at the bottom of it.
Pushing confusion aside, the animal smiled at her again and held out another handful of pamphlets. “Thank you. Here is your journal and some information about the city. Enjoy your stay.”
Tak accepted the offerings once more and they joined the others in her pak as she gave the useless human another smile and then walked through the gate.
