Star of Bethlehem [Active]
Character(s): Azmaria Hendric, open
Content: Azmaria arrives in Paixao.
Setting: Niflheim Gate
Time: morning
Warnings: none
Azmaria's eyes snapped open. Had she passed out from exhaustion? She had been using a lot of her energy, even if she did feel she had quite a bit left. Perhaps that was just adrenaline. At any rate, she had to tell Chrno about Rosette! She got to her feet in only a moment, but she wobbled off-balance and hit the--
Dirt? She gasped, coughed up the dry ground that she had unintentionally swallowed, and looked around. This was not Eden--it was nothing like Eden at all. Like nowhere she'd ever heard of, actually. Not that she had seen or heard of the entire world, but--but she could remember knowing, sort of. It was gone now, but she remembered knowing what the world was like. And the world was not like this.
So where was she? Was this the Astral Line?
"Chrono!" she called, desperate and ignoring the line of blonds nearby. "Rosette!"
But there was nothing. She felt like crying. She did, a little. What should she do? Nearby, the line filed forward, ignoring her. She almost walked right by, and would have, had the guard not stopped her.
"Miss!" he called. "You need your journal!"
"My--What?" Azmaria asked, blinking away tears.
He held out a thin pink box, which she took with unconcealed bemusement. She took the pamphlets the man provided as well.
The guard ignored her mood entirely. "Welcome to Paixao!"
