Kid couldn't say she was surprised at that, merely interested. At least she wouldn't be bored here, in theory.

She glanced back again, still striding along. "A time-split is what happens when someone goes into the past an' changes it," she answered. "The future the person who changed it came from remains th' same, but a new timeline is created, implementin' the change." She shrugged. "You'd be surprised t'learn how much of a difference a tiny change can make." But oh, she was glad that she had gone back in time and saved Serge - at least, she was until he had stabbed her. "But not many people can do it, y'see? It's a good thing, too, or else we'd have odd timelines all over th' place." As far as Kid knew, she was the only one who could do it, though she wasn't sure why.
