Well, it at least worked in the sense the the spell hit the Sinspawn. It wasn't near enough to kill it, of course, but it was at least a decent start - its tentacles curling back in disgust and pain. How dare its prey retaliate with things that burned. Magic. If it had had lips, it would have curled them.

But lacking that level of expression it would have to make do with what had, calling up the safety of a Protect before moving in once again, tentacles reaching out once again.

She wouldn't be able to dodge forever, right?
