"You're going to have to find it out for yourself, won't you?" Desire did not fulfill wishes nor longings. It was longing. Perhaps it was the most painful form of torture for the ones it came close to, but that was what it was, a steel blade within the most luxurious silks. Pain in pleasure.

Resuming it's walk towards the gates, it simply sauntered past the long line of mortals, savouring the way they seemed to seek the Endless out, their eyes drawn to it like the little butterflies that had been engulfed by the flame of the candle.

Ah, Del had been very unhappy about that, but those butterflies belonged to it, not her. As long as there was a smidgen of need, of longing in any creature, that creature belonged to Desire.

"Desire," it murmured to the young woman who was too dumbstruck to speak. Plucking the brochure and the journal out of her hands - sensing that they were meant for it, anyway - it strolled through the gates and into the glorious little city that called to it so.

What beauty, Desire mused. Were any of it's siblings here as well? Desire didn't know if it cared very much about that.
