When Drow Attack [Open]

Characters: Jarlaxle, Illidan, open
Content: The drow and the elf wander about the city and pick off some monsters while making idle chatter.
Setting: Streets, random (in other words, just jump in if you want)
Time: Late afternoon
Warnings: Explosions, blood, gore, violence, and banter about various subjects shall abound.

Jarlaxle had spent the past week absorbing the contents of the message board, after he learned how to operate the 'journal' the gate guard had given him. It amused him to note that he had given no less than a dozen separate names for himself at varying times - from his own all the way down the list to Zaknafein. All in a careful attempt to elicit some reaction from the people he was talking to.

Not even the names of the gods had sufficed, though, which was decidedly odd.

And then, about three days ago, the monsters had shown up.

He had been traveling with the much taller Illidan Stormrage, and it was the blood elf's acute magical senses that had given Jarlaxle his only warning as a magical attack of some sort lanced through the space he had occupied only a moment before. The creature - which appeared to be a Beholder, of all things - fell with a dull splat, one of Jarlaxle's throwing daggers buried in its central eye, and burst into a conflagration of the most interesting fireflies. That was new.

"It would appear that we have company," Jarlaxle said calmly, as he drew another dagger, not even bothering to retrieve the first. It would find its way back to him in a few seconds.
