Beasts in the Streets [Active/Semi-Open]
Character(s): Montblanc, Zidane, AndrAIa, Rosette, anybody else interested
Content: Lumens: The Hunt Begins
Setting: Acting Clan Headquarters [I7] -> heading out to ???
Time: Late morning, the day after visiting Cid's shop (which I swear he will do soon)
Warnings: None known
Montblanc stood perched atop the railing overlooking the foyer. It was about the agreed-upon time, and he expected the others would show up at any moment; then they could set out on the hunt, something he was quite looking forward to. Even if he was literally a whole other world away from home, it felt good to be getting some work done nonetheless.
The building he'd found to act as Headquarters for now was both surprisingly large for what he'd paid (a few tree branches; he was still surprised they'd taken them) and surprisingly similar to the accommodations in Rabanastre. The house boasted a large, open foyer with a staircase along one wall that led to the upper rooms; the rooms themselves were a little on the small side, but ah well. All it really lacked were the usual hangers-about... it seemed sort of empty without them.
Well, Zidane was already here somewhere, and the rest would be arriving shortly. Maybe depending on how this went, he could convince them to drop by again afterward.
((ooc: orz I'm sorry it took me so long to get this up))

Arriving at I7, AndrAIa peered up at the large building, which must be Clan Headquarters. It seemed to fit the profile she was given, anyway, and that was good enough for her.
With a confident stride and cheerful, anticipatory expression of a warrior about to do battle, AndrAIa stepped up to the building and opened the door. Her trident hung at her side, and she was itching to accomplish something in this strange place...
Following the curve of the stair upwards, she smiled at the figure on the railing above. "Montblanc?" It looked like him. "I'm AndrAIa. We communicated over the journals."

For now, he enjoyed the air. High places were a blessing to him here. He could see a lot of the city. It reminded him of when he was on top of the opera house... but that resulted in him meeting Axel, someone his hasn't seen in... a long time.
Zidane slumped forward and sighed. He should... talk. He knew about Axel at least, and he knew that Lexaeus was at the hospital, sitting and waiting for someone to just come on to him.
He shook his head. No. That man for for him to deal with. On his own terms.
Zidane kept watching below.

She paused at the door. What was she doing? It was a hunt, it could be dangerous...
It was the same thing she did at the Order nearly every day. After everything that had happened, this was probably going to be as close to "normal" as she got for a while.
She opened the door, striding in with as much confidence as she could muster (which was surprisingly more than she expected to have). She nodded to the girl who'd beaten her there in greeting, then waved to Montblanc. "Hi! Are we about ready to go?"

It seemed like a good time to end his conversation over the journals with Riku when whatever the hell was going on in the distance was just getting weirder, and he could barely make it out. Lumens could wait (unless it was them causing this, but that seemed as unlikely as the Organization).
He made his way down from the roof, only fumbling a bit. His body still wasn't quite up to snuff as he'd like it to be. He had noticed another girl enter not too long ago. That would be good... maybe they could check around some.
"Hey, guys!" He entered with a rush, gazing around at everyone. "There's something going on to the east! I can't tell what's going on too well, but there's already been some damage, and some other weird stuff! It's... it might be getting worse... I really think we should go take a look at it!"
The city could be in trouble, after all. And maybe they'd find some scattering lumens because of it.

"So that's what it was," she said, more to herself than to the group. Up until now, she hadn't connected the feeling to anything serious. "I've had a...bad feeling..." She shook her head a little to clear it.
"How far?"
(OOC: *LIES to adapt to the Sin thing thread!*)

"Hey," Rosette returned the greeting. She had no idea who this guy was, but if he was part of the hunt then he couldn't be all bad. He was sure excited about someth- oh. Huh. They were just jumping right into this whole hunting business, weren't they.
"Wait." She raised an eyebrow, addressing the guy who'd just walked in. "'Something' like what? Do you have any idea what's going on?" She also couldn't help but worry about what the other girl had said - why didn't she have the same "bad feeling?" Normally Rosette had a pretty accurate gut instinct, but nothing had happened yet...something was off.
For now, she'd just go with it and keep an eye out, just in case.

"I don't know, I made out a building going down. Whatever it is, I'm sure as hell that it isn't good! I know others are going to go sniff it out, but, well, from my own experience, you can bet that either the lumens are going to be pissed and going toward it all, or getting the heck away."
He looked antsy, even his tail flickered wildly through the air. "No idea what's going on though. But seriously, you wanna just leave it as is? If we're stuck in this city - I'd like it to be in one piece!" He moved quickly back for the door, then turned a serious look back to them. "Oh, and several of us are damn sure that it isn't the Organization."

"The Organization sounds more like trojan horses, from what I've heard," she said, following Zidane to the door. "Their programming is more subtle." And she had dealt with her fair share of viruses... "Besides, I've never been able to SENSE a virus -- that's a Guardian's job. This is much more..." She paused, trying to think of the correct word. At last, she said, "Artificial." And that was the best way she could explain it.
Shrugging her bare shoulders, she said, "I'm AndrAIa, by the way." Her hand slid to her hip and found her trident. With a flick of her wrist, it smoothly extended itself to its full length. If there was trouble, they might need it.

...which didn't help her understand AndrAIa's words. At all. She was pretty sure they were in English, and she recognized the Trojan Horse reference, but...it just didn't make any sense to her. File that under Things to Figure Out Later - for now, they had a job to do. She followed AndrAIa and the guy whose name she still didn't know to the door, closing it behind her as they left. "You know where it is, right?" She looked to the man for direction. "Lead the way, then.
"...I'm Rosette, by the way," she added almost as an afterthought.

He was impatiently hopping by the door. "I saw the wreckage out... uhh..." His eyes swiveled around, as if he was actually seeing it, and then they settled back to the two girls. "West of here! Yeah. West."
And how rude of him, he was halfway out the the building before he skittered back with a grin on his face. "Oh, and I'm Zidane Tribal, by the way." He winked. "Come on then, let's go!"
He wanted to get in on the action.
