A second dance with Fate [Active]
Characters: Ed and OPEN
Content: From shark, to dead, to human to...here??
Setting: Joutenheim Gate.
Time: Sunset
Warnings: None yet. PG, maybe for strong language.
Ed'Rashtekaresket didn't remember much as he woke up to the setting sun.
And it was so bright... so blinding that he blinked his eyes against it.
Why was it so...
He opened his eyes, finding himself laying on something hard, something dry...
So dry...and he was breathing. No, this is not right.
He jumped up in a panic, realizing his whole world was flipped upside down, was not the way it was supposed to be.
And then it came rushing back to him...
The Lone Power, death, destruction, the death of the Sea...Atlantis..
But he stopped it, for a time. And he died in the process! He is not supposed to be... here, where is 'here' anyway..?? And then it hit him: He was standing. On legs.
Oh, blood alive, he was human. A feeling of disgust and dread filled him, because, a) he was confused. b) he was supposed to be dead and c) he was not sure how this worked. His mouth was so dry...
His eyes adjusted to the light of the sunset, and he looked around, hoping, praying to find a familiar face...
Instead, he found people. Just people.
A line, that he found himself in the middle of as people shifted around him, finding their own place. He was still looking, and moving, and praying for something familiar. Forcing himself to calm down, he found it. The hunger.
His body was hungry, the hunger gnawing at him, threatening to eat him from the inside out, it seemed.
He was next in line, being asked for his name...
Name... And he remembered.
"At least I can say it..."
...Nita...
"Excuse me, sir? Your name, please?"
"Ed."
He was handed a stack of pamphlets, and a small thing, that he would have to figure out later. He looked on the front of it, the side closest to him...was that the 'front'? He saw an ocean scene, with humpback whales and...something pale, in the background...was that him??
"You'll need these, Ed. Welcome to Paixao!"
