Hearing the new voices, Mickey glanced over toward the bench, where a young human girl and another kind of creature--Mickey had never seen anything quite like him before, though he looked a bit like a koala bear were sitting together. The girl was giving him a very odd look--most humans, Mickey had found, were less used to seeing walking and talking animals like him than other animals were--and he smiled at her reassuringly.
"Stuck here, huh?" Mickey echoed as well, scratching one of his huge round ears--a habit when he was perplexed. "That's what I was hopin' not to hear...I'm Mickey, by the way," he added, extending a hand for either one of them to shake. "'Scuse my ignorance, I'm afraid I just got here."
