Even if she'd wanted to stay Cid probably would have vetoed that idea sheerly on general principle alone. Enough that he'd have to deal with the result explosion that was going to happen when a Turk, a man who should be insane and wasn't and a guy who spent half his damned time brooding into the same space. Needless to do say, he'd be making damned sure to have both Venus Gospel and his few remaining materia well within reach. Sure, you could call him paranoid for it, but as far as he was concerned it was a damned sight better than be not prepared enough, at least in this case.
