A War on the World!
No matter what, no matter who...[COMPLETE]
Character(s): Monkey D. Luffy, open to all
Content: Luffy arrives at the church, and can't decide what to make of it...
Setting: St. Destino, the far end of the Elysian Fields
Time: Late Evening
Warnings: None
"The view...sure is nice!"
No matter how badly his feet hurt from the long march from the city's gates, Luffy couldn't help but focus instead on the positives. With his throbbing feet hanging over the edge of the derelict church's roof and rafters, those long legs of his playfully swaying about, Luffy sat himself just along the edge of the building's highest height and let his ample gaze hungrily consume the banquet of scenery such a loft had to offer. From the point he had carefully climbed to, he could see the entire light-glazed field, still swathed in the glow cast by what Luffy equated to a shower of snow-like stars. The young captain was smiling from ear to ear, as if the view he drew in belonged to him.
Yet...something rather sour was gnawing at the back of his mind. The view was lovely, yes, and being so adventure-crazed made the journey worthwhile in the end, but Luffy had come to realize something during the walk across the Elysian Fields, and while he had been nosing about within the church he now sat atop of so proudly:
There was nothing here. "...kind of boring, though," he groused faintly, folding his lean little arms across his chest.
The trip was rather disappointing on a variety of levels, if only for the fact that Luffy, such a dreamer, was still under the impression that he had been called to this world for some particular reason. Surely, he thought, he might find some clue to that reason outside those guarded walls. Surely, there was something to be treasured, if there was so much regulation against venturing outside the city. Surely, all the secrecy regarding this area, an area that was still surprisingly silent, must have something interesting to be found! No clues here, he had grimly found; just a lot of rubble and cobwebs.
A crisp evening breeze blustered past him, carrying through his wild black hair and his unbuttoned red vest. It was fairly cool out that evening, especially considering his modest attire, but not quite enough to drive Luffy inside just yet. He leaned forward against one of the rising spires along the church's rooftop and smiled more contentedly. Maybe he'd sit and just enjoy the view...for a little longer.
