Itachi accepted the cinnamon roll from Naruto with a murmur of thanks. He looked it over before taking a bite, pleasantly surprised by how it tasted. If all of the food here was this good, then Itachi would be content to stay put.

"This is good," Itachi told Naruto with a smile before considering Naruto's question. "A smile. I was thinking about a smile...." It was a very strange thing, but there it was.

And Itachi still had the hope that, if he held onto that, other memories would come back to him.
